Chapter 13

-Time Skip 3 Months-
Aufiero's POV

"Daddy, where's mommy?"

I looked down at Noni who had tears spilling from his eyes. "I don't know where she is at this moment but I know she'll be back in a little bit. You have to be patient"

"I don't want to be patient

"Noni"

He rubbed his eyes and crawled onto my lap. "I want my mommy"

I leaned down and kissed his cheek. "I want her too son"

Noelle went to Washington to see her dad. She was supposed to be back last night but her flight was delayed. She called earlier saying she'd be here around 1 and it's now 3 and I'm getting worried.

"Daddy?"

"Yes Noni"

"Can I get ice cream?"

Sighing, I removed him from my lap and walked into the kitchen. He grabbed the cones from the pantry and stood beside me. "Here" Noni said handing me the cones. I smiled down at him. He had big brown eyes just like Noelle.

"Daddy, you gotta make you some ice cream too"

"Alright then"

After I finished, we sat back down own the couch eating our ice cream. "DADDY, DADDY MOMMY'S CALLING" Noni screamed. He jumped up to get the house phone.

"Mommy hi I miss you please come home" He said with a smile. I guess she told him to hand me the phone because he frowned and gave it to me.

"Hey baby, everything okay, where are you?"

"Hi. I'm at the airport but they wont let anyone leave. There's something going on outside and security is making us hide in places. I saw a lot of people calling their families and I thought I should call you to let you know whats happening."

I took a deep breath before responding. "Are you okay sweetheart."

"Yes but, people are saying we're going to die and I'm scared"

"Don't be scared ok. I'm gonna come up there and Ima see whats going on. You're going to alright so don't worry"

"Aufiero, I don't think thats a good idea" She whispered. "Why not? You're in danger. I vowed to protect you. I can't just sit back and wait for you to call and say you're okay and you're on the way back"

"Aufiero, I don't want anything to happen to you. If something happens to me you gotta be there for Noni"

"Nothings gonna happen to you or me"

"You don't know that"

"Noelle, I'm not about to argue with you. I'm coming up there whether you like it or not. I love you okay"

"I love you too"

I ended the call quickly and grabbed some shoes. "Noni, get your shoes on. We gotta go"

He stood there and stared at me. "Where are we going?"

"Noni, don't worry about it just hurry and get your shoes"

Noelle's POV

Once again, I'm caught in the middle of something. Seems like after the wedding, and my dad announcing me to the world, my life has been getting worse. I thought things would be okay but of course not.

And to make matters worse, Aufiero is getting involved. Sometimes that boy really doesn't listen.

Here I am, sitting in what I think is a closet, with random people, waiting to see if we can leave or not. Everyone in here is scared. Shaking, crying, sniffing, being annoying as hell. But I can't blame them. I'd probably be doing the same thing but knowing Aufiero is coming makes me feel a little better.
