"So," I said, quoting a favorite movie, "What do you wanna do? Something good? Something bad? Or a little bit of both?"

"A little bit of both, I think. Hey, why don't we go to the Hunters' Guild and check out the job board?" Isaias suggested, already back in his element.

"Good idea in a pinch," I replied, focusing on not crashing into a star or something equally catastrophic. "But I really don't fancy going to such a populated area in our current position."

"Why? What's our current position?"

"Um, well, we kind of blew up our employer's starship. And his house."

Isaias' eyebrows lifted mischievously. "And who was your employer at the time?" he asks with a barely concealed grin.

"Um...does the name Andar Gold ring any bells?"

"The viceroy of the Polaris system? Seriously? You mean to tell me that you blew up his stuff without me?" Isaias exclaimed incredulously.

"Twice."

Isaias rolled his eyes at me.

"Hey, you snooze, you lose, bro," I said, punching him on the arm. It was good to have him back. The bridge had been quiet without him.

"Okay. Well, if you don't want to do that, I know a guy," said Isaias.

"Where would we be going?" I asked him. "Nowhere huge."

"Just up to End. He's a member of the dark market Dynasty. The Sentinels tend to turn a blind eye to those working for the margravine and her lieutenants."

"Is he seriously in the Dynasty?"

"Yeah, and he's even a direct member. His name is Luka. He's the grandson of the margravine," Isaias replied. "We've been friends for a long time and I bet he can pull us a favor. Maybe he'd even give us discounts on supplies."

"Sounds good to me. Rad, set coordinates for End," I said. "We'll be stopping at the Underground."

"You got it. Coordinates set. Arrival at 02:30 galactic common time," said Rad, typing commands into her console.

It seemed like we were headed for a good job - and then we got arrested.
