Amanda stopped reading the article in her hands and allowed her eyes to wander over to where her brother, sister, and father were. My dad was politely talking with the lady at the front desk, probably to excuse himself for being late. Then she allowed her eyes to wander back to the other article spewed on top of the small desk beside her chair. She was about to continue reading the article in her hands when she saw another newspaper about the murder. Amanda reached over to read.
"Small Town Mass Murder", Amanda whispered as she read the title.
She flipped the page to find pictures from the murder scene, and she nearly vomited. The boy, Marcus, was laying on the ground. He had gashes on his throat, and on his side. His eyes were open yet... unseeing. Amanda blocked the image with her hand and looked up to see a blonde girl speaking with the lady at the desk. She had light skin, and light blonde hair. She wore a pink dress, with black streaks on the shoulders, and across the abdomen. The girl made her way over to Amanda and and greeted her.
"Hi you're Amanda right?", she asked. Amanda mutely nodded in response. "Hi, I'm Mary I'm supposed to be your tour guide to show you around school."
"Oh", Amanda said. Wait Mary? As in Mary Hoffman? As in the Mary Hoffman who witnessed the murder of Marcus?
"Well come on Amanda", Mary said with a smile on her face. "I got to show you your homeroom first."

As they walked the halls Amanda felt more and more anxious, and more and more curious about the murder and Mary.
"So...", Amanda said awkwardly. "Do you know anything about the... um... the --"
"Murders?", Mary said with a slight sorrow on her face. "Yes I do. Seeing someone die in such a gory way... It's not something you can forget."
"Oh", Amanda said as she mentally cursed herself for bringing it up. "I'm sorry for asking."
"No it's okay.", Mary replied. "How much do you know about what happened?"
"Enough to know how dangerous that killer is." Amanda said. "Do you see the killer?"
"Yeah, the killer looked kind of female to be honest. Hair as black as night, dark green jacket with fur lining on the hoodie and the mask--"
"Had insane swirls in the eyes, dark blue tear stains down the face, and a wicked grin." Amanda interrupted. At this point both the girls stopped walking and stared at each other.
"How do you know that? How did you know what they mask looked like? How did you even know she had a mask? No ones ever gotten a picture of her!", Mary exclaimed.
"I had a dream about her once.", Amanda answered.
"Oh no..." Mary whispered more to herself than Amanda. "Marcus told me the same thing, the day before he died. Maybe the legends are true."
"Legends? What Legends?", Amanda asked.
Mary looked at Amanda before unfolding the whole story, "There was a girl, seemingly normal. Only she wasn't. She could see and hear things other people couldn't hear. They say that the girl would 'talk' to the voices. Everyone thought she was utterly insane, so the town voted, and thought it was a better idea to lock her up in Hysteria Hall. The doctors there would experiment on her, to find out what went on inside her head. I guess one day she snapped, and went on a rampage. She killed a few doctors and nurses and escaped killing a bunch of teens. Marcus being one of them. They never found her and they say those who dream of the Genocide, get murdered next."
Amanda was just about to say something back when a teacher poked his head from his classroom and said "Young ladies! You have been standing here gossiping for about fifteen minutes! Now stop talking and get to class!"
"Sorry Mr. Peters", Mary said apologetically. All "Mr. Peters" did was scoff as he went back into his class room to resume teaching. "Come on our homeroom is right down the hall. I'll guide you around the rest of the day since we have the same schedule."
The girls continued to walk until they reached the classroom. Amanda was given a few warm welcomes, but she was only partially listening. She was too distracting by a figure out the window, wearing a mask with insane swirls on the eyes, sickening dark blue tear stains, and a wicked smile.
