~~~~Lunch Time~~~~
Amanda sat at the far end of the lunch room as she patiently waited for Mary to get her lunch and sit with her. Amanda took a bite out of her sandwich as she stared out the windows looking outside. She could've sworn she saw something, no, someone. Amanda was so focused on the window that she didn't notice Mary take a seat in front of her.
"What are you looking at?", Mary asked.
"I could've sworn I saw something out our homeroom window this morning.", Amanda replied.
"What was it?", Mary asked.
"Nothing important.", Amanda lied.
"HEY MARY!", someone yelled. Mary looked over her shoulder to see who called her. A boy aroung Amanda's age came running over to them. He had dark blue jeans, black hair, light skin, light blue eyes, and black hoodie.
"Hey Adam!", Mary replied happily.
"Hey", Adam said. Then he looked at Amanda. "Aren't you the new girl?"
"Yeah", Amanda said. "I'm Amanda."
"Nice to meet you.", He replied. "So I guess you must've heard about the town's... history."
"Yup. Some pretty messed up stuff if you ask me." Amanda commented with a smirk. The three spent the rest of lunch talking together.
~~~~Time Skip~~~~
The school day was finally done. Amanda said goodbye to her two new friends as she walked down the school steps outside. It was dark and slightly chilly outside. Amanda pulled on her sweater and continued to walk down the vacant street. There were no cars passing, no other people, nobody. Or so she thought. Amanda passed a single street lamp, which was the only one of two actually working, the other being a few paces ahead of her. As she past the lamp she got about three yard before she heard a cracking noise. Amanda whirled around, but there was nothing there. She was about to say "Who's there?" but stopped herself. She ad seen enough scary movies to know that saying "Who's there?" is a death wish. Amanda walked two more steps before hearing another crack. She world around again. Still no one was there. Amanda walked a few more steps before hearing footsteps behind her. She whirled around for the third time. No one was there. Probably someone messing with her.
Amanda growled as she turned forwards again, and she saw it. A female- like figure wearing a dark green jacket, with fur lining on the hoodie, a horrid mask, and a knife that looked recently used. Amanda froze what should she do? What could she do?
Amanda put her hand in her pocket, she felt her switch blade's handle. She gripped on to it in case she actually had to use it. The masked girl to one step, Amanda pulled out the switch blade and pressed a button on the side so the blade popped out.
"STAY BACK!", Amanda yelled. "I MEAN IT!"
The masked girl tilted her head to the side, like a confused puppy would do, and then without waring she ran at Amanda at full speed. Amanda barely had time to react, all she could feel was the air being knocked out of her as she fell. Amanda took the blade and stabbed her attacker in the shoulder. She hear the masked girl yell in anger and pain. Her attacker brought up her knife as she slash Amanda in the side.
"AH!", Amanda yelled as she shut her eyes. She didn't want to see the blood she was losing. Amanda blindly slashed with her switch blade, she must have hit something because she heard her attacker yell again. Amanda used all her strength to kick the masked girl off her. Amanda opened her eyes to see the mask girl clutching her side. But that girl wouldn't give up so easily. She slashed at Amanda and made a deep gash on her arm. Amanda cried out, she closed her hand in a fist and bashed it on the masked girls face.
Amanda ran as fast as she could trying to ignore the screaming pain she was feeling. She turned back to see her attacker on the ground with her back to her, and her mask sprawled out on the side walk. She had punched the mask right off. Amanda turned and ran again running about three more yards. She turned around to see that the killer had vanished, mask and all. This time when Amanda ran, she didn't stop until she was all the way home.
~~~~At Home~~~~
Amanda felt like crying with joy when she finally reached her house. She unlocked the door and ran in slamming it shut afterward. Amanda fell to the floor, she couldn't run anymore. She could hear her mother and father coming from the living room, and she could hear her siblings running down stair to see what was going on.
"Amanda Jessica Walker! Do you have any idea how late it is your mother and I were worried sick! And--", Her father yelled but when he finally saw her lying on the floor, with cuts and bruises he nearly went insane. "OH MY LORD! AMANDA WHAT HAPPENED?!"
He ran down to help Amanda up. "Jessie, go call an ambulance."
Amanda's mother quickly ran to get the phone in the kitchen. Peter and Terri finally got downstairs they stared in horror at their sister. Terri started wailing, while Peter cowered beside his weeping sister.
"Amanda sweetheart", Her father said softly. "I need to know who did this to you. Okay? Can you tell please?"
"It was..", Amanda said but stopped, she was about to say "the masked girl" but that wasn't the name. what was it that Mary called it? Genocide?
"It was Genocide", Amanda said before the world turned black.
"N...O...
E...S...C...A...P...E"
