Run, just run. That's all I could keep thinking of. I was running when suddenly I bumped into someone. I looked up to see Jordan holding me. In my confusion, someone behind me called my name. I released myself from Jordan's hug and turned to see Erik on his bike. He was crying. He looked betrayed. "It's not what you think, Erik." I said. He let out a sarcastic sigh. "Really, Erica? It doesn't seem that way." And he drove off. I started running after him. But like always, I fell into the deep, black hole. And I just didn't stop falling...
I sat up. Gasping for breath. No, Erik, come back! A tear escaped my eye. I felt so alone. Now Erik doesn't even want me... Who did? Who was willing to stay friends with me? If Erik has given up, then everyone will.
I slowly made my way to the bathroom and washed my face. Same routine as every morning, I thought. I didn't feel like going to school today. I just wanted to lie down and do nothing. But we were writing tests today, and my mom wouldn't allow it.
I took my time this morning. Dressing extra slowly. Playing with my food. Tying my hair and untying it. My mother came running in and told me that we were late. And I didn't mind.

I walked to where Penny was waiting at Erica's locker. Where was she?
"Hey."
"You looking for her, too?" I nodded. "Where could she be? She's never this late."
I shook my head. It was true. Erica was ever late. I wonder if she is still mad at me? I didn't mean to hurt her, but after Amy kissing me the whole time, I don't know who I want anymore.
Penny and I were still chatting when the bell rang and it was time for class. We decided to stay and wait a little longer. Good thing we did, because Erica came walking in the hall. Both of us hurried towards her, but she held her hand out, indicating for us to stop. She got her books without saying anything. Then, before going in the class, she said, "We'll talk at lunch."
We just nodded and headed to class.
Lunch time came and Penny and I couldn't wait to talk to Erica. We sat and waited at our usual table. After a few minutes, she showed up. She sat down and took out her lunch. She took a bight of her sandwich. Chewed a little more. She left us in silence. So I decided to talk.
"I'm really sorry for ignoring you. I was just very occupied and just didn't feel like talking to anyone," I said foolishly. I looked down, hoping she would see my soft side. I really want her to forgive me.

Unbelievable... But yet, I can't stay mad forever. Jordan stood up and came to sit next to me. He gave me a side hug, and I smiled.
"Fine. But next time, tell me what's wrong."
"Okay, I will. But why didn't you tell me what was wrong with you yesterday?"
"It was about you, you douchebag!" I said and punched him in his shoulder. Penny laughed along, and it felt like a part of my friends were back.
The rest of the day was filled with laughter and smiles, until drama.
For Drama, we were going to do improvisation. So I chose Jordan to be my partner. We were given a story line, and we were supposed to continue the story. Our story was a moment between friends.
We sat on two chairs that sat next to each other. If the other kids wanted to join, they were welcome.
I started the play, "I was wondering if we could talk."
"Yeah, sure. I'm always open to talk," Jordan said.
"But recently, you haven't been very chatty..." I said with attitude. Without realizing it, this thing was becoming more realistic by the minute.
"Well, I'm listening now, aren't I?"
"I guess. That's actually what I wanted to talk about. Why have you been so distant?"
"What do you mean?" Jordan asked with genuine concern. I sensed it.
"You were ignoring me... And when you're with your 'other' friends," I said with my hands in the air, "You seem happier than when you're with me..."
"So you've been stalking me?" He said whilst standing up. Then he winked at the class and they laughed. I had to break it to him, that's what a conversation with a friend was like. All jokes and then the serious part. I just didn't expect it to become so serious.
"Sort of. How else was I supposed to see you without chasing you away every time I talked to you?" They class had a wave of OH's.
"I'm sorry."
"For what?" I quickly asked.
"For ditching you. I was a little occupied with- "
Just then, Jay interrupted and become part of our play. "Amy."
I rolled my eyes. Why is he here? I closed my eyes and asked, "What do you want Jay?"
He gave Jordan a wry look. "Revenge."
"Oh my word. Really? This again?"
"Not until I tell everyone the truth about this two-faced player. Why don't you take a seat Jordan?" Jay said cheekily.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about Amy, baby doll," He said to me. "The reason he was so 'occupied', was because he was busy kissing Amy. Right after he kissed you."
I turned my head to see Jordan looking down. He looked mad but yet sad. Like it was true.
"Jordan, tell me it's not true."
He swallowed hard. He nodded and mumbled, "Yeah, it's true." His voice cracked. I grabbed my mouth. The tears could no longer hide. I so desperately wanted this to be a bad dream. But it was real. As real as life.
I struggled to breathe... I felt dizzy. Betrayed. Hurt. I forgive the bastard and he still doesn't tell me the truth... I decided that the best option right now, was to get out of here.
"I have to go..." I said and ran out. Penny following me.

I stood up and gave the jerk a big punch through the face. Then I bent down and said, "You're only jealous because Erik got her first. And then I did. You just never fitted in the picture." I sighed. "I have some explaining to do..." And I left the class to find Erica.

My mouth hung open. Jordan really cared about her! Amy was just messing up the plan. Confusing Jordan. Caleb was right!
When Jordan left, the class started clapping hands. Wait, they think that was all an act? The bell rang and on my way out, Mrs. Robin called me. "Sam, tell Erica they get extra credit this term." And she winked. Unbelievable! Even the teacher thinks it's real!
School finally came out. It was a mission to find them, but when I did, I gave Erica a big hug. I was going to show her their video, but that could wait till later. For now, the three of us were going to spend the whole afternoon together.
