"Morning! Man, today is a great day to be early." Jax said and headed over to Daryl as he walked into the garage. "Look what the Gas Monkey guy's dropped off."
Daryl walked over to the new car in the garage and saw that it was a '68 Impala. It was a little out dated and needed a few tune ups but Daryl could see the potential. Jax smiled as he saw Daryl's mind begin to start working.
"I know that look." Jax said and opened the hood. "Wanna get your hands dirty in this lady don't ya?"
Daryl laughed a little and clasped his hands together and then his eyes opened wide, "Is this the original engine?"
"You bet it is." Jax said and crossed his arms and smiled widely as he watched Daryl can under the hood.
"This is... wow." Daryl said taking a step back. "They just left it here?"
"There's a catch." Jax said closing the hood and motioned Daryl to follow him to his office. Daryl sat across from him and Jax handed him his phone and pressed play. It was a voicemail form Richard, the owner of Gas Monkey Garage.
Hey Man, look here's the deal. We like your work. Alright, we love it. From what I hear your a good kid with a rough past, I grew up the same way. So we gotta look out for one another, ya know? And with a talent like yours, I can't pass that up. We need the kind of innovation that your talent provides. Putting a G3 engine in with a 78' turbine... Man... anyways, I don't like doing this over the phone but I'm in Texas and your in Georgia so we don't have many options. That's why I left the 68' impala there. If you build it up like you did the other car we saw at the race then there's gonna be a sweet deal waiting for ya here in Texas. Give us a call when you finish it up. Can't wait to meet ya buddy.
Daryl just starred at the phone in disbelief for a moment before Jax broke the silence with a loud clap of his hands and a laugh.
"Ain't that somethin'?" He said and Daryl shook his head unable to wrap around what just happened.
"So what I finish the car and drive it to Texas?" Daryl asked, "What if they don't like it? How am I gonna pay for fixin' it up, I had Monkey's sponsor money for his car-"
Jax held up his hands and waved them, "Don't worry about the price and of course they'll like it. I haven't seen one job done by you that they wouldn't like. Now what do ya say? Teaming up with Gas Monkey is a dream come true for us and who knows they just might steal my best mechanic from me. But hey, I wouldn't blame ya one bit. It's fuckin' Gas Monkey Garage!"
Daryl smiled as he watch Jax get more and more excited. He tried to imagine him fixing up the car so nice that Richard would want him to work for him, but then what? He'd leave for Texas. Leave where his brother was locked up? Where his parents graves laid in the cemetery near his old house? Leave Beth? He wanted to be excited but the doubt that always stopped him before rushed over him taking any ounce of hope he had that this could work out.

Seven days had past sense Maggie had announced to her family that she was planning her wedding. Daryl wasn't sure how weddings usually worked, considering he had never been to one, but as everyone rushed around the house now he knew he never wanted to be apart of planning one. Beth was holding a large bouquet of flowers in her arms as she rushed past him towards the kitchen. Maggie was yelling from the living room on the couch as she wrote down all the people she wanted to invite. Their mother and father were off booking the venue and Shaun and Glenn were setting up the alter in the backyard where they wanted to get married. Daryl stood uncomfortably by the front door as he waited for Beth. She invited him over after he got off work because she wanted to tell him something. They had barely seen each other sense the night day they spent at the race track because Daryl was working so hard on the car and Beth was helping Maggie plan her wedding. Neither of them had told each other the big news yet and that's what Beth was hoping to do. When she finally stopped running around she stopped in front of Daryl and grabbed both of his hands and led him upstairs.
