Dear Sage,
The police went to your home. You weren't there. And now word's been going around that you're... Missing... And I'm really scared for you.
No one was home when the police went to your house. That was probably because your asshole of a mother was apparently arrested for DUI three days prior and is still in custody, and your deadbeat of a father... Well, who knows where the hell he is right now!
I only know all this because Janise's mother is police chief and she overheard her talkin' about the problem to her colleagues when Janise went there after school. I asked Janise if she had anything to tell. She said that she'd tell me because she knows how close we are, and warned me that I better not tell anyone she told me this, 'else she'd beat me up.
Knowing Janise, I don't doubt she could kick my ass any day of the week.
I've texted and called you multiple times, to the point where I would expect you to at least reply once out of annoyance or something but you haven't responded and I'm getting scared. You are not picking up, and... I'm afraid of why. What the hell happened to you?
When I first heard the news that you were missing, a sharp pain inside my chest stabbed me hard and spread through my body like the surging sensation of a million pricking thorns poking into and out of my skin. I haven't said much since, and I wanted to stay home from school but my mom forced me to go despite it all. I told Val and Kade, but they'd already heard and were quiet as well.
I've just been quiet all day. I don't feel like talking. I feel really scared. Anxious. Paranoid. I keep telling myself that it's gonna be fine and that you'll show up, but it's not working. This feeling remains constant in the back of my head like a dull pressure that presses on the skin on the back of my neck and... I don't know how else to explain it. It sounds stupid, I know.
Shit.
Where the hell are you?
