Kiera burst through the night class dorm doors, wide-eyed and a terrified look in her eyes. She looked around the room quickly, until her eyes landed on me and she ran towards me, putting her hands on my shoulders.

"We have a problem!" She shrieked and before I could ask a question, the doors opened once more and in walked the devil herself. She was short, only about 4; 9 and her stick straight, hot pink locks fell to her knees and swirled around her. She wore a light pink ribbon in her hair to keep it out of her face. She wore a night class standard uniform with white tights and black flats. Her eyes were an amber color and she looked around the room, then her eyes landed on me and she smiled brightly.

"Ama~~~~~~ra~~!" She yelled out cheerfully, running towards. My eyes widened considerably and I turned to run.

"Miranda!" I shrieked in fear and turned to run away.

"Ama~~~~ra~~~Big sister~~~!" She called and suddenly her smile turned wicked. "Get back here you narcassistic bitch!" She screamed, chasing after me. I shrieked and turned to run only to trip over my own feet and face plant. Miranda followed soon after except she managed to catch herself before she wrecked her face. I scrambled to get to my feet and escape but she grabbed my foot, keeping me in place as she smirked wickedly.

"I've missed you sister." She murmured evilly and I almost cried.

"Someone please help me." I sobbed dramatically, reaching a hand out to grasp at the stairwell. She pulled me back.

"Uh-uh. You are not getting away that quickly, bitch. You owe me an explanation." She growled as she got to her feet and grabbed me by the hair and dragged me away from any source of help. Completely ignoring any Night class members and Kiera, and practically dragged me through the entire town until we ended up at a seafood restaurant where she ordered a variety of sushi rolls, lobster, and crab. She gobbled the food down like a shark gobbles a school of fish and then turned to me when she was finished.

"You disappeared." She pouted and I sighed.

"Didn't you hear? A witch cursed me." I told her and she scowled.

"No way in hell did you let a witch curse you." She scoffed and I glared at her in annoyance.

"I didn't let her curse me, Miri, she caught me off guard." I grumbled. She stared at me long and hard for several minutes.

"You got bested by a mortal." She stated bluntly and I narrowed my eyes at her and pursed my lips.

"A mortal with magical powers." I hissed and she rolled  her eyes.

"A mortal though." She said flatly and my lip twitched ever so slightly.

"So what brings you on land, Miri?" I asked, taking a bite of sushi. She shrugged.

"Well a couple of things. I was really quite curious as too what happened to you, but more importantly, I wanted to know what Talise was up too most of all." She told me and the atmosphere became just a bit colder. Talise.

"What is Talise up too?" I asked quietly and she sighed, staring out the window as rain started to pelt into the ground.

"I don't know. Talise has always been secretive but now it's like she's fallen off th face of the earth. And no one has seen her in the Oceans anywhere, not that I'd expect her there." She said bitterly.

"Who's Talise?" Kiera poked her head up with a sheepish grin and Miri scooted over and allowed Kiera to take a seat  next too her. I sighed.

"There are seven original mermaid sisters, as I'm sure you know. The eldest was Talise, then me, then Kailani, Riddley, Rosemary, Miri, and then your mother, Iris. Talise is the oldest mermaid to ever exist and is also the cruelest." I explained, thoughts troubled with memories of my older sister, Talise. Kiera snorted.
