"What do you think about this one?" Katsumi asked, while biting her lip in worry. I rolled my eyes once again. Apparently the pink knotted surplice dress she'd chosen to wear to the dance a week ago wasn't cute enough for Idol, so she dragged me out to town to go shopping. Because of my modeling job I already had my entire outfit planned out but I hadn't even chosen it, my stylist did. And I was officially more bored watching fashion shows then being in them.

"It's cute." I said boredly, looking at the gold sequinced mini dress. It was cute, but not adorable or beautiful. Just cute. And It didn't look good against such fair skin as hers, although admittedly I was way more fair then she was, too the point my skin was practically the color of a porcelain dolls. It was absolutely gorgeous and the jealousy I got from other girls was well deserved.

"Ugh, cute just isn't good enough!" She shrieked and walked back into the dressing room.

"Yeah, Kat um seriously I like the pink surplice wayy better then I like any of the dresses you're trying on. Just go with the pink one." I told her seriously.

"But I heard Idol talking and he doesn't like the color pink." She said sadly. I scoffed.

"Well who gives a damn?" I sneered.

"I do. And stop going into bitchy mode, remember you're supposed to be nicer to me then everyone else." She reminded me and I snorted.

"I have no obligation to be nice to anyone whatsoever. I'm nice to you because we're roommates and constant tension in the air would be bad for my complexion." I told her. I couldn't see it, but I just knew she was rolling her eyes.

"Well for whatever reason you have, I'm one of the only people you actually are nice too, so i'm taking it as a win and running with it. What about this one?" She asked, stepping out from the dressing room wearing a purple flowing maxi gown. I made a face.

"Ug-ly. It washes you out and doesn't show your figure at all. Seriously Kat, go with the pink knotted surplice." I told her bluntly. She pouted.

"What are you wearing anyway? Shouldn't you be looking for a dress right now as well?" she asked and I rolled my eyes, picking up a fashion magazine with my picture on the front and looking through it.

"I'm wearing a Nadia Signature blue short satin dress, jewel sandal heels, and an Alexander Mcqueen flower skull box clutch. No jewelry and pink and white flowers in my hair. Same light pink nail color as the clutch and shoes." I told her boredly, flipping over another page.

"How-" She started but I cut her off with a deadpanned look.

"I'm a model, Katsumi. You keep forgetting that. My stylist picked it out for me. And you should listen to me when I tell you which dress to go with. Can we go now?" I asked flatly. She glared at me for a minute and then sighed and nodded, giving up in this quest.

"Yes, just let me change back and then we can go." She said sullenly and went back into the dressing room again and changed quickly into her uniform and then came back out. We left the shop and started the path back to Cross Academy. It had gotten considerably dark now and I was cautious of what might pop out of nowhere if we weren't careful, so I surveyed the streets carefully.

However it seemed I didn't pay attention very well because the next thing I know Katsumi is letting out a strangled scream as a Level E vampire grabs her and digs it's fangs into her neck without a moments hesitation. Her eyes slid over to me for help and I stared back boredly.

"Help me!" She screamed at me, eyes wild.

"Fine," I sighed. "but you aren't going to like what you see." I warned. My eyes became slits, my teeth became sharp fangs and my nails turned into claws. I hissed at the Level E warningly and it pulled away from her neck, giving me a perplexed, only half sane look.

"You..not...human?" It stuttered out. I moved forward quickly.

"You got that right bitch, i'm not human, i'm a goddess of the sea. And if you know what's good for you, you'll scatter." I growled, coming closer.

"A-amara! -y-you...ha-have f...fangs." Katsumi stuttered out, eyes wide with terror.

"I told you, you wouldn't like what you saw." I told her with a wicked grin and then narrowed my eyes on the level E. It's seems it's confusion about me had momentarily decreased his blood lust as he wasn't even paying attention to Katsumi's open wound.

"You have three seconds." I warned the creature but instead it laughed insanely and returned to Katsumi's neck.

"One." I counted aloud.

"Two." I continued.

"Three." I said with a sadistic smirk and clenched my fist. The level E suddenly staggered backwards away from Katsumi and screeched in agonizing pain. You could see the blood beneath the skin boiling, the skin becoming red and blistered.

"W-what...you...doing??" It screamed and I stepped closer.

"I'm a mermaid, I have all control over water, if I want to boil your blood all it takes is a thought, if I want to stab you multiple times in the chest with icicles, it takes a wave of my hand. You should've listened." I sneered. It screamed again, clutching it's heart.

"Oh yeah, did I forget to mention? Since blood is flowing through the heart, all I have to do is give a little snap of my fingers," I said and snapped my fingers. He let out one more scream before dropping dead. "and freeze over your heart. Or burn it to uselessness. Whichever." I said cheerfully too his dead body. Katsumi was cowering in the corner of the alley, terror etched all over her face.

"Y-you're a monster." She whispered. I stared blankly at her, no emotion on my face as I retracted my claws, and my eyes and teeth returned to normal. I kneeled down in front of her and took her face in my hands so our eyes were meeting.

"You remember nothing about this event. We went shopping for dresses and returned to Cross Academy with no incidents. You went to bed and fell asleep. Now sleep." I commanded. She gave me one loopy smile and then instantly fell asleep. I sighed. Wow, this was troublesome.

"Need help?" A voice spoke up and I looked over at Kaname standing at the beginning of the alley street.

"Have you been standing there this whole time?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, I have. I wanted to see your powers at work." He told me, voice as emotionless as my face.

"Well thanks for the helping hand." I said sarcastically. He doesn't respond, instead walks over to where I stood and picked Katsumi up.

"I will carry her back." He said.

"Good, because if you didn't, I was just gonna leave her here." I said and we started our walk back to Cross Academy.

"I can also heal her wounds as well." He said with a sigh."Trouble seems to follow you everywhere doesn't it?" He asked me. I shrugged.

"I'm a mermaid, or well I used to be. Now I don't even have my tail. However my powers are still usable, which is wonderful. What are you doing out here anyway?" I asked.

"Yuuki was out here as well and was attacked too. We were just on our way back to Cross Academy. I heard you and also the Level E tracking you, so I sent her on ahead and came to see the fight. I was going to step in if you were incapable of fighting back but it seems my help wasn't needed." He observed and I gave a dry smile.

"You think?" I asked, voice dripping with sarcasm.

We arrived at the Cross Academy gates in no time.

"Oh and I know you weren't planning on leaving Katsumi there." He says.

"Oh yeah? How so?" I asked with a scoff.

"Because you compelled her to wake up in her bed." He told me and walked past me. I stood there with my jaw dropped open for a minute before I closed my mouth into a small smile.

"Well played, Kaname. Well played."
