Chapter Twenty || The decision she didnt decide on

"Don't ask me about it" I said as I marched out the room and into the kitchen.

"We weren't" Spence said softly.

"No you weren't" Stas scoffed. "How are you?"

"I'm fine" I assured her as I poured myself coffee.

"Speak of the devil" I heard Max mumbled as the lock clicked and the door opened.

"Baby girl" Miles sang as as he walked more into the house his smile faded. "Oh"

"Don't sound too excited" Stas scoffed.

"I didn't know we had a full house" Miles lightly chuckled as he talked to me. "Hey"

"How was your flight?" I asked as I toasted some bread.

"Fine, what's wrong?" He asked walking up to me.

"How was your trip?" I asked meeting his eyes.

"Fine, Alyssa what is going on?" He asked softly setting his hands on my waist.

"How's Chantel?" I asked and he froze. He just looked at me. "She looked really good last night"

"Alyssa" he said softly.

I just shook my head and pulled away from him. "I have to head into the office"

"No we need to talk" he said quickly grabbing my wrist.

"Let go" I hissed snatching my wrist away. "And do not think about coming to my best friends party tonight"

"Alyssa!" He sighed then turned his head to my gawking friends. "Do you fucking mind?"

"We do actually" Stas shrugged as she stood up. "Come on Lyss, Max will drive you"

"See you tonight" I huffed as I grabbed my Celine nano off the counter and followed them all out.

I didn't want to fight with him and I didn't want to hear his sob story because the photos said it all.

When I got to the office the only one that was left with me was Max.

Spencer, Stas and Harry all went over to Kendall's go get ready or hang out or whatever. Max only tagged along because this was his business too.

"I haven't been here in ages" Max lightly chuckled as we walked the halls of Rios Software.

"We've made some changes" I shrugged as Lewis approached me.

"Your brother is with the board again" He said softly.

I sighed then looked at Max who laughed then continued to walk towards the boardroom.

"Bran!" Max beamed as we made our way inside. "I've missed you"

"Wish I could say the same" Brandon lightly chuckled then looked at me. "Glad you two are here"

"Really?" I smirked setting my purse down.

"Yeah" Bran chuckled then held up a mask. "Annual charity ball, we're honoring dad for all the help he's done"

"Okay and?" I asked because there was always an and.

"And you two are going to present the speeches, I'll be in New York running the office out there for a few weeks so I won't have time to write a speech" Brandon shrugged and that was it. That was the bomb he so desperately wanted to drop.

"Wow he's finally trusting you to do something with our company that's great" I giggled. "We have to handle business but thanks for letting us present the speech bro"
