After the town house incident

Nine

"Elliot!" She says in surprise.
"Hey liv. I just wanted to talk to you about earlier. Can I come in?" He asks
"Oh, well you can but Ed is here. You are welcome to stay for a while though" she says
Elliot's face expression changes from a smile to a blank, still, dead look that shows in his eyes.
Elliot walks in and takes a seat at the breakfast bar next to Ed.
El had never liked Tucker, obviously, he is IAB. But not only that, there was always something off about him.
Liv pours El a drink and slides it across the table to him.
There was and awkward silence but it was broken by a knock at the door.
She walks to the door, thank god it's Lucy this time!
"Hey liv, I need to head straight out" she says handing Noah to liv.
"Okay, thanks again" she says
"No problem, bye" she replies walking away.
Liv closes the door and walks to the breakfast bar.
"Hey Noah. You remember me don't you. Can you say Ed? Can you say that?" Ed says holing his tiny hands.
Noah frowns at him
"Aww, he will get there!" He laughs.
Elliot gives him a dirty look. "Hi Noah, you okay little man?" El asks
Noah smiles and claps his hands.
"Aww" El says stroking his cheek. He looks up at liv and smiles.
She smiles back.
"It's late isn't it. I can't believe you are still up!" She says picking him up and placing a kiss on his cheek.
"He probably didn't want to sleep without his mommy!" Ed says smiling.
"Okay, let's get you to bed Mr!" She takes him into his room to get him ready for bed.

El and Ed sat at the brew bar with the awkward silence.
"So. Why are you here?" Ed asks bluntly
"I could ask you the same thing Tucker!" El replies sharply
"Well me and Liv went out for a meal, and she invited me back here. Why are you here?" he says smugly
"Oh. Well, I came to see how she was doing" he replies
"You could surely find that out at work. And I think you should leave. I need to speak with her" says
"Well so do I..." He begins, but gets cut off by liv entering the room.
"He went to sleep easy then?" Elliot asks, Been as it only took her 5 minutes.
"Yeah he is really good like that" she replies.
She kind of wanted them both to leave. She needed time to think, but she didn't really want to kick them out. Both of them have told her pretty much the same thing, and she obviously can only choose one.
Elliot broke her, but they were partners for years, she had always loved him. Ed had always looked out for her, considering he is IAB! They had always been friends. But she knew what he was like, she knew what they were both like. Two strong protective men, with anger issues.
She didn't want to make it obvious, so she yawns.
"Are you tired?" Elliot asks rubbing her left arm high his hand.
"Yeah a bit. It's been a long day" she says, yawning again
"Oh, we will leave you to get some rest then, I can't really believe you are back at work yet!" Ed says standing up.
"Yeah, well I've had more than enough bed rest!" She says, "I'm just tired"
She walks to the door and opens it. They both walk to her, ed leading and el following.
Out of nowhere, Ed kisses her cheek. "See you tomorrow" he says as he leaves.
"What was that?!" Elliot asks, half angry half hurt.
"What? Nothing!" She replies
"Well it didn't look like nothing!"
"It was just him saying good bye!" She lies.
"Have you thought about us?" He asks, he is hurt.
"No, I haven't really had the time" she replies, with a slight bit of sarcasm.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I'll just go now" he says with his head down. He leaves and she closes the door.
When she is sure he is gone she slides down the back of it.
She feels the tears forming in her eyes. But she won't cry, she won't!
She stands up and clears her throat. She shakes it off and goes to her bedroom to get dressed.
She looks around the door to check on Noah. He is curled up in a ball with his lion teddy, with the blanket on the other side of his crib. She walks in, being able to see because of his dinosaur night light.
She sits next to the bed and covers him up. He begins to struggle, he moves in the sheets and begins to kick.
"Noah, it's okay. Mommy is here. It's okay" se says attempting to comfort him.
He begins to cry and he kicks the blanket off of him.
"Noah, it's okay baby. It's mommy" she says.
He wakes up and his scared face turns into a smile as he sees its just his mommy. He reaches up for her. She picks him up and grabs his lion teddy. She walks into her own room and gets into the bed. She lays Noah next to her and plays with his hair until he falls to sleep.
He felt safe in his mommy's arms.
His mommy would protect him.
