Chapter 9
Next day I was in class just playing with the soul stone wondering what to do with it. I can't absorb the souls because... reasons.. so that's not an option.
"NIX" no its Jess I have to get out of.. I couldn't even finish my thought when she started to choke me.
"Jess.. throat.. can't."
"Whoa dude is that a soul stone? What's the monster?"Warren ganged up on me with Jess. I hate them.
"Let.. me..go.. can't breath." I managed to get the words out before they released me. Air. Oh thank god.
"Hey what's this monster soul though." Warren tried to take it from my hand. I used my speed to clutch the stone before he could lay a hand on it.
"what's so special about that soul?" Avery asked. What's special?!?!?!?! Everything.
With a tone of happiness I said, "Gaia's Priestess. I finally got her."
I watched as all three stared at me with mouths hung open. Wow what's up with that?
"You hunted down Gaia's Priestess?? That's a fucking legendary! How did you even do it? Last week we attacked her lair with Marie and Azzie but were still beaten back. She was so strong. Of the hundred entered only 50 escaped. So how did you do it??" All three were staring at me asking all these questions.
Uhh this will be hard to get out of. I can feel Avery's eyes on me boring holes in my head. Warren still had his mouth open and Jess has these unreadable expression on her face. They knew I was strong and doing well "solo". How strong, they didn't know.
"I had some help from some friends. Some strong support and hunters. You know, soloers" I lied. Sorry guys. Can't tell you the truth. I'm sure they knew I was lying but didn't say anything.
"So what are you doing just holding it in your hand playing with it like a normal rock? Absorb it man" Warren slapped on my back.
"Monster Soul can be used more than one way you know. I plan on making a defensive gauntlet with this gem as the mount. Or maybe I'll sell it. Hear the Alliance is buying Soul Stones like crazy for whatever prize." I wondered out loud.
Of Course I won't sell to the Alliance. Who knows what dim wit will absorb. Or when it'll get stolen from their "high security."
They knew they weren't getting any legit information explanation from me so they stopped pressing the issue.
The rest of the day was slow and uneventful. As soon as the bell rang I magically made wings and flew out. My aim, City Of Salem. Ah the wind feels so good.
Ok that's a short chapter. I want to take this story slowly. And develop the plot and character lines in details so... any ways.. comments would be really helpful as it'll tell me where to improve my writings. So comments pls
