Chapter 14

Logan's POV

I reached the former school Rake told me about. Whoever was attacking the place had put up a barrier. Killing the mages and breaking the barrier took some time.

The second the barrier deactivated I felt the smell of blood hit my nose and an incredible killing aura coming from the courtyard area. It was so heavy even I had trouble keeping my cool. Just what did Rake get me into.

*Icy Creations: Wings"

I kept my cool and flew in the direction where the blood lust was coming from. What I saw was horrifying. A mountain of corpses. Blood and body parts were everywhere. Hands, feet, ears, even scalps were strewn around the place The castle behind was no pretty picture. Men and women, some even disembodied, were staked. But what was most terrifying was the person sitting on the pile of bodies. He was the person emitting the nauseating aura.

Hiding behind some tree branches, I observed, and tried to think come up with what to do.

"I know you're there. It would be better for you to come out rather than me forcing you."

I flew down from where I was. Adonis was going crazy telling me to run away. But for some reason, I couldn't. The fear factor must be it. The whole place is this stranger's playground.

"The blood is just beginning to rot Logan. This person finished his rampage not long ago and his bloodlust and killing intent is still strong. Let's get away from here" Adonis pleaded with me. But I had to find out what happened.

"So.... lots of blood huh. What happened here." I nervously asked.

He ignored my question, firing back with one of his own.

"Who are you. And why are you here? Be careful with your answer. Might be the defining factor to whether you'll live or die."

"Well I.. " I started to speak when the mysterious person attacked.

*Dieux Lumièr Starburst*

This guy.. he's fast. If it wasn't for all those crazy training sessions with Rake I wouldn't have survived.

*Demon Ice Slayer: Colossus*

I made a giant statue imbued with the demon slayer magic, in hopes that I'll give me some time, or hopefully kill him.

I hopped on the back of my Colossus, while he curled up his fist, readying for the fight"Let's see you deal with this."

I could see the wicked smile on his face even from a considerably high height.

The Colossus punched, only to be blocked by a pair of wings. Wings? Those weren't there before. The wings were different too. One black, one white. I wondered if it had anything to do with the black and white veins oh his face.

"Hold on master Logan." The Colossus offered me warning before jumping in the air, landing with a force so high that the corpse mountain collapses to one side.

Whoever this person was, he was good. Well, should've expected from someone who brought forth hell and slaughtered everyone.

*Dual Wield Perish Song*

How did he.. ? He took down Colossus with a single attack.

*Frost Arrow Barrage*

I won't go down without a fight. But even as I flew to a safe distance, I saw him slashing through the arrows like they were made of sand paper. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

*Demon Ice Slaying Magic:- Frost Dragon*

If this fails, then I'm done. Even making this Dragon took a huge chunk of my Mana.

"Let's go *Frost Dragon's Breathe*"

Before the mist from sudden coldness even settled I fused my magic with the dragon's making a breath attack. He shouldn't be able to dodge this one.

As the breath attack hit the castle walls after decimating everything in its path, I heaved a sigh of relief. But only for a split second. The familiar killing intent was back. And this time, from above.

Fuck how could he even escape that?
All I could do was brace myself as his attack hit both the Dragon and me. The Dragon protected me and took the brunt of the attack but I still got my health dropped to red. How strong is this guy?

I hit the ground hard, disorienting my senses for a bit. I could faintly hear the sounds of someone landing next to me.

I was prepared to be killed. As long as it's fast. Living this nightmare is much worse. He's too strong for me. Then something unexpected happened.

"You did good against him in that form. Drink this potion. Will instantly heal you."

Another stranger. I was too tired to argue or doubt so did as he asked and drank the potion. The results were instantaneous, healing me instantly and washing away my fatigue.

"Now go. We'll handle it from here."

I nodded, molding my wings and setting off in the guild's direction.

"Oh and Logan, tell Rake The Avenger said hi"

I didn't even stop to ask how he knew my name or how they knew Rake. I just got out of there like a bat outta hell.
