Chapter 1: Thrown Back In Time

2022

Lily Luna Potter was sitting in the front room, eating lunch. The chair that she was sitting on was severely uncomfortable and broken. Damn. She had to remind her dad to fix it. Hmmmm. This table was also looking spotty. Maybe one of her uncles could fix it. She looked down to the book she was reading. The ancient alien princess had just bravely claimed her love to the commoner, and her father- her horrible, racist father- was planning to kill the poor-

Lily suddenly was brought out of her reverie by an insistent pecking at her kitchen window. She sighed softly and got up, and opened the window. There sat an impatient ivory colored owl, flapping its wings, glaring at her, as if saying, 'Aren't you going to let me in? Humans, Honestly!'  The owl flew in and settled its self on the kitchen counter and out its leg for Lily to take its package. It was a simple brown box; it didn't look too harmless. She eyed the package wearily.

'Don't touch something if you don't really know it's safe...' Lily heard her father's voice in her head, reminding her.

Lily was a smart girl, but she was also very curious. So of course she wouldn't hold the object inside with her bare hands. No- she had gloves. She placed the box on the counter carefully and got a pair of gloves in one of the drawers below. Lily bit her lip, weary of what her parents would do if they found her doing something so irresponsible. How many times had she watched James get in trouble for doing something so impulsive as this? She contemplated the consequences, and decided they would not be worth it if her parents found out. If. With that thought in mind, she grabbed the pair of scissors and set to work.

Lily opened the package slowly as a gold chain slipped out.

"Lily Luna Potter," She heard someone say softly. What the hell? Lily looked around quickly, but no one was in the room. She looked back down at the object. Bright gold, almost blinding her. She clamped her eyes shut against the bright light assaulting her. She tried covering the object with her hand, but some light still escaped between her gloved fingers. "Look at me,"  She heard the same chilling voice whispering again. This cant be good, she thought frantically. She felt with frightening realization that she felt a subtle pull, trying to get her to look at the hidden objects in her hands. The object was cursed! Her head was pounding and her vision began to grow fuzzy at the edges. She felt the wind pick up around her, the buzzing assaulting her ears get louder. She tried to call out, but she realized to her horror, that she could not. She was frozen in place. The object continued calling out to her, driving her mad. She tried to resist its calls but was quickly losing the battle. Dad, Mum, anyone! it was impossible that they couldn't hear the screams of the golden object. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of resisting its calls, Lily looked down at the object.

It was a fucking time turner. Of course, the one time that she was an impulsive idiot, she had to find a cursed time turner. She was in some deep shit now.

"Lily?" Came a deep voice from just outside the kitchen door. Teddy! Thank merlin's dirty underpants, someone competent who could help her, not James. She tried looking away from the object, to call out to her god brother, something-

"Are you all right-" Teddy opened the door and was immediately assaulted by a terrible screaming. He cringed down and covered his ears. What the hell? Where was Lily? He looked around frantically, taking in the mess. Pots, pans and various utensils were everywhere. In the middle of it stood Lily, her red hair flying in the magical wind, staring, entranced at the blindingly gold objects in her hands. Her eyes were wide and frightened, but they were unmoving. Teddy lunged forward, trying to knock the cursed object out of her pale hands. "Lily no!" Teddy screamed; but it was to late. Lily unwillingly turned the knob, and gold swarmed the room.
