Chapter 3: A plan to go back in time
2022

James Sirius Potter sat at the Gryffindor table eating breakfast with his little brother Albus. Albus was a fifth year, Gryffindor. Albus's boyfriend Scorpius Malfoy was also with them, he was also a fifth year Gryffindor.

It was Christmas break 2022, And most of the students were out. The Owls came; James noticed Hermione's large barn owl as it was directly heading for the three boys. An owl landed gracefully in front of James, and he took the letter out of the owl's beak.

"What do you think it is?" Albus asked worriedly. James shrugged

"It's not a Howler; I would know that." James smirked. They had stayed at Hogwarts; Scorpius and Albus had wanted to spend some alone time together, and Ginny made James stay to make sure certain things wouldn't happen between the two.

James opened the letter, and stared at the neat handwriting of his aunt Hermione.

"Dear Jamie and Al',
I don't know how to say this, and hopefully you'll believe me. Lily was sent back in time... Apparently to 1995. Teddy went after her, so she's not alone. I'm at your parents house right now trying to calm your parents down and trying to think of a plan to get them back. If you want to, you can come back home. Stay safe and don't do anything stupid

I'm talking to you James.

James stared at the letter for what seemed like ages, as Albus and Scorpius read the letter.

James loved his sister, he was very protective of the naturally petite girl. Lily had never had a boyfriend yet (Harry, Teddy, and James thanked the gods for that) and if she ever got one, James would be sure to ask his dad to bail him out of Azkaban. ( A/N I don't know if that's possible, imagine it is for humor purposes.) His little sister was intelligent for her age, earning her a place in Ravenclaw.

James was protective over his shy little brother too, but Albus really didn't need it. Albus Potter was loved by all, girls, boys, and Quidditch players alike. He was an amazing seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, while James was a chaser. James was the captain of the team, and Scorpius was also on the team as a chaser too.

Lily was amazing at everything, also quidditch. She was the Ravenclaw seeker, making it in her second year. James had seen some changes in Lily's appearance over the past couple of weeks; Lily had lost some weight, her arms and legs would swell, she was sick all the time, and she would get random bruises and nosebleeds. James suspected, but didn't want to accept the possibility that his little sister was sick again. If anything happened to her, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

"Albus, has your father ever told you about his time in 1995?" Scorpius asked. Albus nodded

"A bunch. Why?"

"Would you two want to come with me to 1995?"

James looked at the blonde boy oddly

"How?"

"My father told me about the room of requirement. We could ask the room for a time turner to go back to 1995." Scorpius said, smirking at his own smart plan. Albus looked to James, and they agreed.

After breakfast, they would go straight to the room of requirement. Once on the seventh floor, Scorpius walked in front of the room while James and Albus watched with confused expressions. A door appeared, and Scorpius went in, the other two following.

A single table was in the middle of the large room, and a golden chain was on top. Scorpius studied the chain, seeing that it went back in years. His father had told him about Timeturners, and how they were dangerous. But did Scorpius Malfoy ever listen? No.

Scorpius told the other two to grab onto him him as the room swirled and they were all knocked off their feet.
