"Mal," Evie drawled.
The purplette was studying her mother's spell book, brows furrowed in concentration. Mal was looking for the spell able to heal any kind of fever--if there was any--with no such luck.
Evie has gotten the virus, along with half of Auradon Prep's population. A few were up and healthy, Mal could name some she knew, her being one of them, but unluckily, the bluenette wasn't so lucky.
"Mal..." She repeated.
Finally, Mal looked at her, hearing the tone of her voice. After a moment or two,
"You look sick, E," She observed.
Evie closed her eyes, pressed a fluffy pillow in her face and muttered, "I feel sick."
Her best friend sat beside her and felt her forehead. "I think you're sick," Mal announced.
A muffled "Ugh" was Evie's only response.
"You think?! Really Mal?" A voice asked skeptically.
"Hey." She greeted the two VKs leaning in her doorway who greeted a series of 'Hey's back.
"Good timing," Mal remarked. "I was almost gonna call you."
Jay shrugged, "I don't disappoint."
Carlos coughed rather loudly to gain their attention. "Hey Evie..."
Jay glanced at the heap of blankets wherein a shivering bluenette laid. "So that's why you guys weren't there to watch tourney practice."
Evie looked at him flatly. "I'm sick, Jay."
"Whatever."
Evie sneezed in response.
Jay held out his towel.
Evie raised a brow at him. "What am I going to do with this?"
He shot her a 'duh' look, that shut her up.
"Rude but thanks anyway."
It is then that Mal realized that everyone was looking at her weirdly. Well, she has been unusually quiet.
Carlos voiced the other's thoughts. "Mal, you okay?"
"She's not the sick one here, y'know." Jay stated.
Mal rolled her eyes but nevertheless answered Carlos' question. With another question. "You guys are free right now, right?"
The two nodded. Mal concluded Evie's sleeping since her breath was even and steady.
"So I have a favor to ask..."
"Go on..." Jay promped.
"Can you guys watch Evie for a while? I have to meet-"
"Prince Charming?" Carlos guessed.
"No, not Chad nor his father. I'm actually meetin-"
"Bla bla Evie, Nag. Nag. Nag. Can you stop nagging?" Jay mocked.
"What Jay meant to say was that you're meeting Ben, we know. No one's stopping you to go." Jay glared at Evie.
Mal looked at her, "I thought you were sl-."
Evie smirked. "Dear, sleeping and resting are two very different things."
Mal's eye twitched. "Will you guys stop interrupting me?!"
A knock startled the four making Carlos jump. Ben's voice was heard at the other side and Mal smiled at them sheepishly.
Carlos gestured towards the door. "Your impatient prince is waiting..."
"Bye! Jay, Carlos, remember. Evie!" Mal reminded them as she went out.

"You look beautiful." Ben said, awestruck.
"Thank you."
Shaking his head, he headed towards the room and peeked at them. "I'm borrowing Mal for the time being. Get well soon, Evie."
A sudden growl escaped Jay's lips and Carlos rolled on the floor laughing at his reaction. Evie looked at them confused; with a beet-red Jay and ROTFLHAO Carlos.

"Did you hear his reaction? Holy... t'was epic." Ben chuckled.
Mal smirked. "Jayvie, huh?"
