"That was cruel..." was the first thing Jay said to her as he barged into the room she shared with Mal.

Evie shrugged, "It was inevitable. The whole stalker-thing went from kinda sweet to down-right annoying then-"

"'Everything went downhill after that', huh?" Jay finished.

Evie sighed and rested her head into his shoulder--both of them looking up at the night sky.

"Yeah... Somethin' like that..." She murmured.

"It was convincing, even for me. Everyone thought you'd last, but then again, he should've known better dating you, Eves."

"I dunno. Don't wanna talk about it. Don't like him. I like..." Evie dozed off in the middle of her sentence.

Jay chuckled lightly. "Sleep tight, Princess. Tomorrow's probably gonna be chaos..."

MAL

"Where the heck is she?!" Mal asked frantically.

Carlos looked up from the book he's read ing... about dogs.

"Honestly? I don't exactly know. I haven't seen Evie nor Jay since last night."

Mal growled. "I was dying to hear what she'd say about their break-up. I mean, I know that Evie's all about breaking hearts nowadays but Doug? She'd never try to hurt the guy she likes..."

"Does she? Like Doug, I mean. Maybe she did try, but then again, maybe she never liked him. She likes Jay remember? At the Isle?" Carlos reminded her.

Mal's eyes lit up, "Oh yeah... I remember. She always talked about Jay this, Jay that. And she did kiss his cheek that one time. Maybe she still likes him. Jay liked her too, right?"

Carlos nodded and cocked his head towards the door, gesturing for Mal to go out now. Mal glared at him and grabbed his hand, causing him to drop the book he's reading.

"Hey!"

"You're coming with me. We're gonna make sure that they're gonna end up together by the time we're done with them."

Carlos relented since the purplette's pretty pushy, and convincing, and persuasive, and he can't refuse her. Well, so much for having a peaceful afternoon...

EVIE

Evie snuggled closer to the warmth of her pillow, the comfortable feel of cuddling it just eerily familiar. The addictive scent also adds to her sneaking suspicion about her pillow not being her pillow. It just feels so natural to hug it that it feels weird.

Her pillow groaned and hugged her back. And pillows don't just hug people out of nowhere, right?

Evie opened an eye and another and came face to face with red and yellow leather jacket. And the only one who has a jacket especially like it is...

Jay?!

He yawned and smiled at her. "Mornin'"

Evie blushed bright red and buried her face in his jacket, not letting him see her flushed face. She muffled an intelligible "Mworhninng" in response.

Jay chuckled. She blushed brighter.

Until a cough ended their moment.

Mal stood, hands crossed above her chest, eyebrows raised in a what-the-heck look. "Care to explain what's going on?"

MAL

"So?" Mal promped.

"Well it went like this..."

(Flashback)

"B-but I... I-I love you!" His voice cracked.

Their relationship status was still unclear and he's being confused by the signs: does she like him? Does she not?

So aiming to take the next step, Doug decided to confess to her, betting his luck that she'd like him too.

It has been about 4 weeks of dating and everyone was convinced that they like each other the same, even Doug was, too. Well, it wasn't a surprise, Evie's a great actress.

Evie grinned, a wicked glint in her eyes.

"The feeling's mutual."

He visibly sighed in relief, his shoulders sagged from the anxiousness 'cause frankly it seems that he has nothing to be anxious about, and he smiled at her hopefully...

But his hope was shattered all too soon.

"I love myself too."

Evie smirked and walked away, leaving a broken and confused Doug behind.
