Christina POV
I let out a sigh of frustration as I hung up my phone and slammed it down on the table. My day went from good to bad within a matter of seconds.
Supposedly - Claire never paid the company we used to purchase Grammy's casket. So somehow and some way, I myself have to come up with $1,758 by the end of next week. She claims that the fashion company she's over is failing at the moment - and there is no way that she can come up with the full amount by next Friday.
Apparently she thinks because I make good money, and I'm close to Jermaine again - these fees are just suppose to magically disappear within a matter of days.
If Claire was the designated person to buy the casket - why should I now have to pay for it? And I never was the type of person to use J for his money - so why start now? I refuse to get the money from Jermaine, and I refuse to pay for the casket - but it has to be paid somehow!
Once again, I have to take for Claire's actions.
"Princess Tina what's wrong?" Victoria asked me as she tapped my hand.
For a second, I forgot that I was even still at work. I couldn't wait to go home and take a nap and forget about all of this shit.
"Nothing sweetie," I lightly smiled as I smoothed out her hair.
Tori was always cheerful, and always made sure I was too. The kids here are what really keeps my spirits up when ever I'm down, and I can honestly say I love my job.
Tori's eyes suddenly lit up as she tapped my arm and pointed behind me. I turned around to see Jermaine with a smile on his face.
"Uncle Jerm!" she yelled as she ran into his arms.
"Hey princess!"
I smiled as I watched J spin her around in his arms, then take a seat next to me. I thought it was so cute how attached he was to Victoria and how good he was with kids in general.
We always talked about having kids together, but of course that went down the drain. Slowly but surely I'm finding myself falling back in love with him, but apart of me is telling me not to. I want to be able to fully trust him again, but I don't want to get hurt again in the long run.
"Hey," Jermaine said to me as he planted a kiss upon my lips.
"Hey," I weakly smiled as he wrapped his free arm around me.
"What's wrong?"
"Why you think something is wrong with me? I'm fine."
"Chris you can't fool me. Something is wrong with you I can tell."
I let out a sigh as he pulled me closer to him and I got comfortable in his arms.
"I have to come up with $1,758 by next Friday."
"Really that's what you stressed about? You know I got you."
"J I don't want you to 'have me'. I don't want you spending money on me just because you're 'J. Cole' and you're able to."
"Chris you ain't gone come up with two thousand dollars by next Friday. Just let me take care of you alright?"
He gave me another kiss as he ran his fingers through my hair. With J, there was no winning. He always somehow got his way with me.
"Jermaine."
"Wassup?"
"I-I love you," I smiled.
I watched as his face suddenly changed from cheerful to serious. My smile soon faded as he rubbed my back.
"Chris it's something I have to tell you."
