The six of them left the bakery and went to Sonoko's favourite coffee place. Shinichi was probably the happiest he had ever been, since coffee was his favourite thing. Kazumi was just taking in all of the smells around her, and she could smell the cake shop from the second level of the shopping center.
Walking into the coffee shop, the six of them sat at a table and ordered their chosen drinks. Shinichi, Ran and Kaito had chosen to order coffee, Sonoko had chosen a cappuccino and Aoko had chosen a strawberry milkshake. Kazumi was a little unsure of what to choose and so she decided to stick with a chocolate milkshake.
Once their drinks came, the group began talking to one another and telling Kazumi about their funny moments. Ran, Sonoko and Aoko had decided that they wanted to get to know their new friend better, which was a little unnerving for Kaito. Especially with what Sonoko was bound to ask.
"So, Kazumi-chan. Do you have someone that you like?" Sonoko asked slyly.
Kazumi looked to her confused for a second, and then her eyes widened to realising what she meant. Kazumi shifted a little in her seat and then looked to her. "No... not really." She managed to speak confidently.
Sonoko smirked a little. She moved a little closer to the Kuroba girl. "Are you sure? It seemed as if you were hesitating for a moment there."
"Sonoko!" Aoko called out. "Don't make Kazumi-chan feel uncomfortable."
Sonoko looked to her. "Aww, but Aoko, I can't help it if I'm curious."
Ran tried to smile to Kazumi, but she ended up sighing instead. "Sonoko, you could wait until Kazumi-chan is ready to tell us."
Aoko nodded her head frantically in agreement. "Yeah, so no rushing."
Sonoko pouted like a little child and then crossed her arms over her chest, looking like a spoilt child who couldn't get what they wanted.
Kazumi just laughed nervously as she scratched her cheek. "It's okay, really. I was just a little shocked by the question, that's all."
Shinichi closed his eyes and placed his cup down on his saucer, releasing a tired sigh. "Don't worry Kazumi, Sonoko's always been like that. Ever since we were little kids."
Sonoko rolled her eyes. "How about how you and Ran are always looking at each other with loving eyes. Don't hide mister detective, we've all seen it."
Ran and Shinichi blushed deeply to her comment, whereas Kaito was giggling next to his cousin, earning a glare from the detective.
Sonoko pointed to Kaito next. "Don't think you're off the hook either, magician." Kaito's giggling suddenly came to a halt, as he gave her look as if to say 'don't you dare.' Seeing that look, made Sonoko's smirk widen. "Yeah, I've seen you and Aoko giving those long, loving looks to each other."
Kaito barely managed to keep his blush down by his poker face, but Aoko unfortunately didn't have that gift, as her face was lit on fire.
Aoko clenched her hands tightly into fists and then turned to Sonoko. "Don't go making assumptions Sonoko! There's no way I would fall in love with an idiot like Jerkaito!"
Kazumi's eyes widened to her insult. "Ouch, that must have hurt." She was jolted out of her thoughts by a hand slamming against the table.
Kaito had slammed his hand on the table, his face showing irritation. "Like anyone would love a boyish girl like you Ahoko."
Aoko glared to him. She opened her mouth to protest, but was stopped with the magician gasping to a sudden pain in his leg. Reaching under the table, he held his now sore leg as he sent a glare to his twin.
