*Levy's POV*
I almost choked on my tea when Erza told me the news. For months, Magnolia has been on good hands with Prince Jellal's kingdom, Sorcière. Erza, who took on the ruler of Magnolia when she was fourteen, excelling in her studies, was the one thought of the treaty. She's even gone with the Ambassador to Sorcière and thought of the union between the two kingdoms, but I never expected them to marry each other. "Princess Levy, are you alright?" Makarov had asked.
"Yes Ambassador." I said, fixing my posture and relaxing a bit. "It just surprised me that's all. I didn't expect this to be so sudden."
"We apologize Levy." Erza said. "The union between our two kingdoms was established between Ambassador Makarov, Prince Jellal and I."
"When she would visit my kingdom, Princess Erza and I would be getting to know each other better and discussing what we would be beneficial for both kingdoms. " Prince Jellal informed Wendy and I.
"I see." I replied back to him, taking a bite out of my tea cookie.
"Prince Jellal, if I may ask, have you already decided which kingdom you and my sister will be living in?" Wendy asked.
Prince Jellal had smiled at her. "We decided that this kingdom will need a king to rule by the future queen's side." he said. "So, after Princess Erza and I are married, we will remain in Magnolia."
"Alright." Wendy said smiling. During the rest of Tea, we discussed what the wedding will be like. Erza wanted the colors red, gold, Blue and silver, as a symbol to our kingdoms's union; there wasn't a specific theme to the wedding, but Jellal had requested that we each wear something to match the colors. Since Magnolia's kingdom colors were Red and gold, I knew which gown I was going to wear.
My attention was suddenly grabbed by a black flash. I look in the direction of the garden, and saw Gajeel tending to the fountain. He looked so handsome with sweat trickling down his face, and how his mesmerizing eyes were focused on his task at hand. "Princess Levy?" I heard my name being said. I returned my attention back to our little discussion with everybody looking at me. "Forgive me, the view of our garden is what caught my eye." I said, partially lying. The garden did look beautiful, but my attention was drawn on Gajeel.
"It is alright Levy." Erza said. "We were just talking about having a ball in a few days."
"Alright." I replied, putting my finished tea cup back on its plate.
"But, we are going to get you and Wendy fitted for new gowns and then you will wear those to the wedding as well." Makarov said. I was surprised. Did Erza really agree to this? Having me and Wendy wear new gowns? I was already going to ask her if she would be able to approve of the gown I had picked out to wear for her wedding, but I think me being distracted by Gajeel working had taken that opportunity away.
After we concluded our private meeting, I pardoned myself to get ready for dinner. As I walked down the empty halls of the castle, the setting sun was shining through the windows. I wondered so many things, as I returned to my room, and began to pick out my evening gown. I had the hardest time thinking since I have been thinking about all of this being so sudden. Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door. "Levy, its Erza, may I come in?"
"Yes, you may." I shouted from my wardrobe. I heard my bedroom door open and close a few seconds later. Erza began to walk towards me, while my back was turned. "Levy? Are you sure you are okay with this marriage?" she asked.
"Erza. I'm alright with it." I reply, grabbing my favorite green dinner gown. "Why do you ask?"
"Because you looked troubled today, and I wanna know what it is about." she said. Her regal voice always seemed to make sure that I was alright, and protected. However, I knew what she meant. She probably thought I was troubled about having her married. "I wasn't troubled Erza." I said. "If I was, I would talk to you first about it."
Erza helped me into my gown, and I pulled my hair back up into a regal ponytail. My shoes matched this gown, so I kept them on. "Levy, I just want the best for our family. Ever since..."
"I know Erza." I said. "But I think this is a wonderful opportunity. Prince Jellal seems like a great person."
"He is." Erza said, smiling with a hint of pink coming across her cheeks.
"You love him, don't you?" I asked.
"Of course I do." she said. "What ask that?"
I just looked down at the ground and walked towards the window next to my room. "I don't know." I said, with a little sad tone. "Maybe, I just envy how you have someone to love."
I could feel Erza smile behind me, as she walked up to me. "Levy. I'm sure you'll find somebody someday." she says. "And I don't care if he is royal blood or not. As long as he treats you like you should."
"Thanks Erza." I said, turning towards her. Then, something else sparked on my mind. "May I ask you another question?"
"Why don't you ask me on the way to dinner? We are going to be late." she said, walking with me towards the dining hall.
"Okay, let's say, for example, that I do meet the person I'm supposed to be with forever, and he isn't what you think he is?" I ask.
"What do you mean by that?" Erza asked.
"Let's say he could be somebody I could have known for a while, but he has the respect for our family, but treats me more like a close friend. And, he would be a little reckless. Would you still accept him?" I ask.
"Are you talking about somebody we know?" Erza asked.
"Uhh...no, I'm not." I say, afraid that she could see me blushing and she could assume I'm lying. "Where would you get an idea like that?"
"I don't know, probably because you just describe somebody that works here." she said. "Either way, he would have to promise to take care of you, your family and the kingdom if he were to become king."
I sigh in relief. "But you would have to get him passed by Ambassador Makarov."
As we made our way to the dining hall, I had the strangest feeling that we were being watched by a certain person.
