Her Iron Knight

Chapter 12

*Gajeel's POV*

I was caught off guard. I didn't know that Jose was Acnologia. How could I not know? They both have a heart of pure darkness. "Surprised my boy?" Jose's voice echoed loudly. "I needed to keep this power hidden from everybody, so I wouldn't get caught. And by the time this is over, nobody will know this secret. Everybody in this room except for my future bride will be dead; whereas the princess will have her memory wiped of this moment and you for the rest of her life."

"You will do NO such thing to the Princess!" I yelled at him. I looked over at Gray and Salamander. "Get the princess and get out of here! Take Juvia with you!"

"No! Gajeel, I won't leave you!" Levy said. "You could be killed!" I looked over at her and saw tears coming down her cheeks. Her hair wasn't pulled back by her headband and her bangs fell over her forehead. Her beautiful gown almost in ruins. I simply walked over to her, ripped the chain links apart and lifted her chin up, to where I could see her. Her hazel eyes, now red from the tears she shed, still had that same kindness in them from when I first met her. I smiled at her and had her lips meet mine. They were soft and untouched, until now. I pulled away and looked back at her. "I'll be fine." I said to her softly. "Erza gave me specific instructions to make sure you get home safely. Levy, please listen to me. I'm going to destroy that monster and I'll see you again. I promise."

Levy was still crying and she hugged me. "Gajeel, I can't lose you." She said, crying into my chest. "You're my best friend. Please don't do this."

"Listen to me." I said, hugging her back. "Nothing's gonna happen to me. I have a power that can stop him. Please, let me what you did for Wendy, Romeo and me the night of the ball. You saved us, and now its my turn to return the favor." Without a warning, Natsu came behind her. "You're Majesty, listen to him." he said.

"Natsu, take her and get out of here. I'll meet up with you when this battle is over." I said, releasing the hug. Natsu grabbed Levy's hand and pulled her away from me. With that, they jumped back through the broken window the three of us came in through. "Metalicana! Don't let them get away, and keep the princess unharmed!" Jose/Acnologia instructed. Metalicana was reluctant at first, but he flew out the giant hole.

I looked down at my wrist, the same wrist that Levy's headband was tied around. "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." I said in my mind. I pulled out the charm that Porlyusica gave me and concentrated on unlocking my power. I felt a strong power flow through me and it was coming rapidly. I felt myself being covered in something heavy. When I opened my eyes, I saw that I was covered in iron-like scales. With that, I knew I could defeat Jose. This is the power that has been locked away in my heart.

*Levy's POV*

I didn't want to leave Gajeel, but I knew that there was nothing I could do to stop him from doing this. Natsu, Gray, Juvia and I ran out of the castle, and out of the mountain. When we felt as though we were safe, We felt the ground shake and roars so loud that we couldn't hear anything. We all fell to our knees and covered our ears.

Suddenly, the shaking and sound stopped. "What was that?" Gray asked.

"It was the battle between Jose and Gajeel." Juvia said. "We aren't..." We were cut off by an explosion and smoke coming out of the top of that mountain. Natsu got in front me while Gray was holding Juvia close. I couldn't help but see how cute they were together. Suddenly, we saw two dragons fly out of the smoke and clashing with each other. It was Jose and Metalicana. "What?! What happened to Gajeel?!" Gray asked. I looked back at the smoke and tears started to well up in my eyes.

"Look! He's on top of Metalicana!" Natsu shouted, pointing at the battling dragons. I looked closer, and Natsu was right. It was hard to see him because he was coated in metal scales. Gajeel was attacking at crazy speeds that he was nothing but a flashing light. I started to cry happily, knowing he was alright.

As we watched them battle more, we saw Metalicana grab Gajeel and throw him in the air. "What the heck?! Why did he--?!" Natsu was about to ask, only to be cut off when Jose/Acnologia used his most deadliest move on Metalicana. His death breath attack. Metalicana was lost in the attack, until it stopped and vanished. Suddenly, Metalicana's wings stopped flapping and he fell towards the ground. The impact was so strong that it it could've shaken a fifteen mile radius.

"METALICANA!!" Juvia cried out as she ran towards the fallen dragon. Gray, Natsu and I chased after her, trying to stop her. Once she made it there, she touched one of the iron-covered claws and and started to cry. We were all back a couple of feet, but Gray was the first to make the foot closer to her. Juvia has told me that Metalicana had taken care of her while being stuck in the tower, and that she was really close to him. I cried over her loss.

Gray simply hugged Juvia and comforted her. I looked up and saw that Gajeel was floating in the sky, surround by a dark aura. Fury was in his eyes. I had learned that before Gajeel escaped, Metalicana was his father figure. It wasn't until Gajeel roared in anger and attacked at full force against the gigantic dragon. The dragon was taking a huge amount of damage until Gajeel landed a giant blow on the center of Jose's chest, piercing throw him completely.

Everybody's eyes widened. The almighty black dragon fell to the hands of Gajeel. The dragon fell, into the smoked up mountain and exploded inside the mountain. Gajeel beat Jose. Suddenly, Gajeel landed back on the ground and collapsed.
