It was shining brightly in his eyes whenever he looked at her.
It was in his hands whenever he wrapped his calloused fingers gently around her thin wrist to drag her off onto another adventure.
It was in his heart whenever he protected her on the front lines.
And it was written on his face when he took the force of the blow.
I wonder why, he began to fall, she can't see it?
Brown eyes overflowing with tears filled his vision along with golden spun hair as she leaned over him.
Her quivering lips were moving, probably calling out his name.
His ears were ringing.
Making it hard for him to hear her frantic words.
His eyes fluttered.
Blurring her face.
His lungs ached.
Making it hard for him to say her name.
His heart slowed.
Making it hard, but never impossible, to feel the love he held for her.
This was love...wasn't it...?
As the world he knew began to dim, he wondered vaguely, if she could see it now...
"Natsu!"
