Sadness

When you're sad, there's a pit inside
It's hard to breathe, it's hard to abide
You can't help the way the sunlight distorts your view
You can't help the way the moon sighs as if on cue

People ask you what's wrong
You shrug, it's hard to smile long
It's hard to feel anything else
It's hard to do what helps

People will bother you and bother you until you can't take it anymore
They will smother you and smother you until you pull out that drawer
It's inevitable really
It's an inevitable feeling

Sadness chokes you
It will evoke you
You can't shy away
You won't feed the pain

It'll go away on its own
It'll claim you as its home
You can only be happy for so long
For however long you can be strong

It's a never ending circle
It's a whole world shaded in purple
You can't explain all that's happening
You can't escape the weight, it's flattening
