CHAPTER TWO

“So I’ve never seen you around before, what name does a beautiful woman like you have?”

“Um…thanks, I guess.” I didn’t bother to tell him my name.

“I haven’t seen you at any of the events held for the elites over sixteen.”

“I don’t attend them.”

“Why not? With a pretty face like yours, most of the boys would want to be partnered with you.”

I blushed. “Well I must say I’m flattered, I just find the events unnecessary and rather a waste of money.”

“Oh well, you’re missing out, that’s all I can say. Another Long Island?”

“Sure, oh make it half and half this time.”

He smirked, “being a bit more daring are we?”

“You only live once.”

He stalked off back to the bar, right time to make my move and get out of here, I fumbled with my clutch for some money to leave the handsome man, with the rush I was in I dropped the clutch and all my belongings fell out.

“Damn you.” I cursed.

I scraped everything up and quickly shoved it back in, leaving a couple of coins on the side for my drink, that’s when I saw him coming back.

You dropped something.”

He picked my phone up from the floor and handed it back to me. “Thanks.” I mumbled, hoping he hadn’t seen me trying to make a swift escape.

“You don’t need to pay, for the drinks, they’re free.” He handed me back the money I’d left.

“Oh…” I blushed, then I realized I could have gotten away faster if I would have known. Ashley was right, I really need to get out more.

“So who are your parents?” He asked.

Don’t tell him, he could be anyone, he could follow you home and find out where you live. “Bonnie and Richard Brown.” Why wasn’t my brain functioning right?

“As in the fashion designer Bonnie Brown?”

I bit my lip. “Yeah.”

“And your Father owns a chain of shopping malls, hotels and properties right?”

Although I hated to admit both of my parents were very rich and were known worldwide, I couldn’t lie to anyone. “yep.” I popped the ‘p’ trying to sound as casual as possible.

He whistled. “Everyone knows all about the Browns, you guys are loaded.”

I blushed. “Yeah well…”

To fill the silence I downed the whole of my drink, I shook my head, this time the alcohol was real strong. The man looked at me like I was crazy and finished his scotch.

“I’ll get another.” I said.

“Sure.”

“You want anything?”

Yeah, in fact I’ll come with you.”

I tried not to groan out loud in annoyance; didn’t he know I wanted to get rid of him? I thought I made that obvious by leaving money on the table, clearly I thought wrong. I just wasn’t trying heard enough, the man turned to me.
