CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

“You’ve changed your after shave.” I spoke into his chest.

“Yeah I do, quite frequently.”

“I prefer this one. It’s like wood pine.”

“Wood pine...?” Brad laughed and I managed a smile.

“Yeah” I clarified “wood pine.”

“Looks like you finished Ashley’s dress in time.”

“Yeah, I did thank God.”

“What’s the verdict?” He asked.

“She cried.”

He smiled. “That better be in a good way.”

I nodded. “I’m glad it was or else I wouldn’t have known what to do.”

“I’d have run far, far away.”

I laughed. “Something like that.”

“So you and Blaine...” He trailed off.

I sighed. “Are not together” I finished his sentence. “You read too many magazines; he just took me out for a meal to say sorry and then still acted like a complete idiot.”

“That’s Blaine for you, he has luck with the women accept for keeping them, and he hasn’t quite mastered that.”

“What and you have?”

“Well you’re still in my arms.”

I rolled my eyes and pulled away from the hug. “Anyway I have things to do.”

“I bet you have.” He replied with a grin.

“Much more than you.” I said and walked off back into the living area to find my mom.

“Morning honey.” She greeted me, you could tell that she hadn’t had much sleep and her eyes were a little red, she hadn’t had her hair or makeup done yet but was already wearing her Chanel suit.

“Morning, where’s Ashley?”

“Upstairs in her room having her hair and makeup done I’ll be up in ten to join you both now hurry along we’re just ahead of schedule.”

I turned around and started making my way upstairs when the shrill voice of my mother called. “Posture” behind me and I smiled.

I walked into Ashley’s room and the window from last night was still open but no breeze was blowing through. You could tell my mother had woke her up early and had cleaned her room for her before the stylists had come.

“Morning little sis, I’m not used to you being up early.”

“Yeah well it’s the big day isn’t it I have to wake up early.”

“I wish people would stop calling it ‘the big day’ it’s like I’m being cursed.”

“Its marriage, it will be alright the first few years then like you said it’s a curse.”

She just laughed. “Whatever Shawna, you won’t have to have tan on either, you’ve caught the sun this year you’re all full of surprises.”

“Surprises is not the word.” I replied.

She just agreed and continued to get pampered and groomed. I got sat down by one of the girls who started to brush through my hair and another who painted my nails a shimmer pearl colour.

“You never told me you dated Blaine.” I started.

“I didn’t think I needed to tell you about my private life.”
