CHAPTER TWELVE.

Ashley literally had to drag me into the club.

"Come on Shawna, don't be a kill joy."

We got passed the bouncers and strolled right into the club; the music from the decks was extremely loud and as soon as I walked in it made me feel like my ears were underwater. I groaned, it was scorching hot and it being summer didn't help the temperature of the room.

Girls in really short dresses were grinding against random people on the dance floor, some people were mingling around the bar area where all of the staff were rushed off their feet and finally I could just make out the glass tables all occupied at the back of the club.

The seating was bright pink leather, the bar was made out of entire glass, and telling the colour of the walls was difficult due to the strobe lighting. Overall the atmosphere was lively but it was too hot and claustrophobic.

Ashley was straight up to the bar and ordering shots for everybody. Sidney smirked at me; she knew what Ashley was like. A small glass of pink liquid was thrust into my direction; did this place have something about pink? No wonder Ashley chose it.

"So girls," Ashley began. "Let's get completely wrecked, to my last night out being single before I get married next week!"

"WOO!" everyone cheered and knocked back the shots.

I just stood there staring into the glass trying to decide if I drank some of it, would it be half empty of half full? I brought the glass up to my nose and inhaled, I was overpowered with something that smelled a lot like Calpol medicine.

Sydney smiled at me. "You know, you don't have to drink it...I'll give it your sister." She winked at me taking the shot and handing it my sister who downed it in one.

"Thanks." I replied embarrassed.

"No worries try and grab a seat and I'll bring some lemonade over to you."

I smiled at Sydney and sat at an empty booth. She came over with a pint of lemonade followed by the rest of the girls with a tray of fluorescent yellow shots.

"There you go babe."

I smiled and thanked her, taking a sip of the ice cold lemonade.

"So Shawna." My cousin Polly turned to face me. "You got a man in your life?"

Ashley giggled. "You never guess Polly, she likes a bit of girl action."

Everyone at the table burst out laughing and I rolled my eyes.

"Care to explain Shawna?" Polly asked.

I smirked. "Ashley does nothing for people with blonde hair I was having a joke and she took it the wrong way."
