The school year was starting to come to a close. Around the school there were tons of signs about summer and prom, but the one thing that a lot of people were hyped for, was the superlatives in the yearbook. Some people went around asking for people to vote for them, but people like you, asked people not to vote for you. Today was the day that they would call people down to the gym, to get their pictures taken for the things they had won.
"Hello?" Your math teacher said into the phone of the classroom. "Yes, Ponyboy and Y/N, did you say?...Ok they'll be right down." You and Ponyboy looked at each other and sent sighs across the room. You knew what that meant. Your teacher called you both up to his desk to write you a pass to the gym for your picture. "I wonder what we won." Ponyboy said, nudging your arm. You rolled your eyes at him and groaned. "At least we're getting out of class." You said. As you entered the gym and sat down in the line of seats waiting, you and Pony we're naming who got what. "Jim probably got class clown and Avery probably got most likely to succeed. Hm, Hailey probably got best smile." You said pointing out your classmates. "I voted you for best smile." Ponyboy said, blushing. You let out a small giggle before guessing more of the categories of each person.
"Ponyboy and Y/N?" You heard a voice call. You both walked over to see your friend, Rebecca. She was the head of the yearbook committee. "So what did we win?" Ponyboy asked. She smiled before saying "Cutest Couple." Your eyes went big and you could feel your face growing hot. You and Ponyboy weren't dating, but you had the biggest crush on him for a while. "But we're not a couple..." You told her. "Well you act like one so go sit on those stools over there." You rolled your eyes and sat next to Pony. You both just sat there and smiled, but she wouldn't take the picture. "Do something cute!" She chanted out. "Just take the picture." You said between gritted teeth. She rolled her eyes and right before she took the picture, Ponyboy grabbed your face and kissed you. "Perfect!" She exclaimed looking at the camera. "I've been waiting to find the perfect time to do that." He told you. "I've been waiting for you to do that." You responded with a grin. You leaned in and kissed him again. "Ok, ok we get it, now get back to class." Rebecca playfully remarked. You walked back to class holding hands, counting down the days to summer.
