Caroline's POV

I continue to play with the pen in my hands, sighing as I bring my feet up onto the chair. My eyes scan the homework, honestly confused about every single part of it. Being back at school after taking a long break requires a lot more hard work than I had planned...

Almost forgetting he was here, I flicker my eyes towards Klaus who was intently staring at his phone, and then at me making me blush.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer," he smirks and I do as well, rolling my eyes.

"There's one I've never heard before," I reply sarcastically, throwing a pencil at him which he easily catches with one hand. I feel the goofy smile on my face grow, not even minding it anymore.

"You've been playing with that pen for hours Caroline, when are you actually going to write something down?" Klaus chuckles and sits up on my bed. I suddenly grow embarrassed as I notice my stuffed animal in his hand.

"I will. I've just been... Thinking," I say and grab Mr. Snuggles out of his hand, placing it back on my bed. I notice him smirking widely as I do so.

"About what?" I shrug. You.

"My grades, I'm kind of flunking science," I feel my cheeks heat as his smile widens. He stands up, now towering over me.

"I can help you," he offers. I raise my eyebrows.

"The Klaus Mikaelson helping a college student study?" I tease him, causing Klaus to poke my shoulder and smile. I bite my lip as he walks over to my open textbook.

"I've passed science many times. I can help you do the same if you'd like," he plays with the page on the book and then looks up at me, waiting for an answer. I huff.

"Fine, you can help me," I give in. He smiles and we both take a seat as he begins showing me how to do it 'properly'.

"So, do you get it know?" Klaus asks. An hour of studying with Klaus was one of the hardest things I've ever done. He was so tempting just sitting there, and if possible, even sexier when explaining school.

"Yeah. Thanks again," I take a deep breath as I stand up and stretch.

"No problem love, I'd do anything for you," he replies casually. My heart skips a beat as I instantly heat up. Why does he do this to me? He must know saying something like that is flirting.

"You would?" I ask, instantly regretting it. I should have just sent him a smile, or a friendly nod.

"Of course I would. Anyone who wouldn't is a fool," he states in complete honesty as we both stare at each other in silence. I gulp.

"Well I would do anything for you too," I smile, hoping to take the sexual tension out of the air. We both know it's a lot for two 'friends' to say they'd basically risk everything for each other.

"Um Elena should be back any second," I break the silence, coughing. He nods and pulls his hands out of his pockets, pushing his hair back from his face. I swear, anything he does is hot.

"Are you hungry?" he asks, surprising me. I shrug.

"Not really, why? We have blood bags if you want one," I offer, and he shakes his head, chuckling.

"Actually, that was my lame way of asking if you would like to go on a date with me," he grins, and I tense up.

"What happened to you not wanting anything more than friends?" I ask, truly confused. All of these emotions I've been holding in, thinking he didn't want anything, and then he just asks me on a date?
