Caroline's POV
I open my eyes, shivering. It was a bit chilly, and the space next to me was empty. I frown, frantically searching around the room for Klaus once I'm up.
"Morning," I hear a voice, causing me to shriek loudly and at a high pitched level I didn't even know I could reach. Turning around, I see Klaus breathlessly laughing, his face practically red.
"That was mean! You scared me," I pout, unable to hide my smile as I watch Klaus gasp for air, giggles escaping his lips. He was extremely adorable like this.
"I'm sorry, your reaction was just too good. Are you hungry before we train?" he changes the subject, a wide smile still on his mouth and his cheeks tinted pink. I almost forgot, shit.
"We're doing it today?" I ask, to which he replies with a shrug.
"If you're not too busy. Then I thought we could go and grab some lunch... If you want of course," he looks me in the eyes, hopeful. I smile and nod.
"Of course I want too, silly," I playfully hit his shoulder. I walk in front of him into the kitchen. Opening the fridge, I grab a blood bag as he watches me.
"I'm going to go and get dressed, Rebekah and Elijah are out right now so it's just us," he explains, happily.
When he's gone, I sip down the refreshing 'beverage' and throw the plastic packet into the trash. I guess I should maybe get ready as well. I find my way back to his room and see he's fully dressed.
I walk over to my clothes and grab them, changing in the bathroom and throwing my hair in a ponytail, oddly nervous for training. Klaus could be intimidating sometimes, especially when fighting.
"Are you ready, love?" he calls out and once again eyes me and my outfit, making me want to just hide in it and never come out.
"Yeah," I smile and follow him out to the backyard which was huge.
"Klaus, you realize you live in a mansion, right?" I ask in awe. He chuckles.
"It used to be my families awhile back. It was abandoned when we moved here so we fixed the place up and moved in," he explains. I nod, processing his words. I wonder how long ago awhile was to him.
"So, what's the first step in becoming as powerful as the great and all mighty Klaus Mikaelson?" I smirk, wiggling my eyebrows at him suggestively. Klaus grins and swiftly and easily throws me to the ground. I land with a hard hit, but it doesn't cause any extreme pain.
"Step one, always be on the lookout. You can't trust anyone," he states. I vamp back up to my standing position, now a bit sore, but ready for his next move.
"Noted," I smile, and he can't help doing so as well.
"Step two, always have your own back. Get what you want and get out of there, don't waste time," he says sternly, and I nod my head for confirmation.
"Don't waste time, got it," I nod.
"Step three- if you're fighting your partner, always get back up. Don't let them find your weakness," he tells me and grabs me by the hips, throwing me into the ground. I groan, attempting to stand back up before his foot is placed on my stomach, stopping me from doing so.
"Okay, okay, I got it," I groan. He shakes his head.
"Not until you can get back up," he states.
