I woke up to the sun in my face as it rose up into the sky. I blinked my eyes before looking down feeling a small weight on my chest. I saw Gale, a blue green Terrible Terror, asleep on my chest. I moved slightly in my bed only to feel another weight at the foot of my bed. Grumbling I glanced down and saw a red, blue and orange Terrible Terror, Rainbow, snoring loudly at the foot of the bed. I gently picked up Gale and put her in the bed before getting up and dressed for the day then heading down stairs. I wore my usual outfit which was a red long sleeve tunic tucked into a brown belt with a dark grey studded skirt and brown fur boots. I pulled my long dark brown hair back wrapping one leather bind around my shoulder blades and another one at my lower back.

I was the first one up so I decided to get breakfast started. I went out side to collect a few eggs from the chickens before returning back inside. As I fixed breakfast I couldn't help but let my thoughts wonder. A lot had changed in such a small amount of time. Just a year ago the war against the dragons had ended and about month since Hiccup faced The chieftain of the Berserker Tribe, Dagur the Deranged and his enslaved Skrill.

Slowly but surely life has started returning to normal on Berk. Shortly after the Dragon War our chieftain Stoick the Vast and his heir and first dragon rider Hiccup started the Berk Dragon Training Academy. However as Berk encouraged other tribes to train and ride dragons the need for a bigger school was evident. Chief Stoick sent out the dragon riders on exploration expeditions in order to find a place to safely train dragons. On one of these expeditions an island about half a days sail from Berk was found uninhabited and was claimed by Berk to start a new school.

With help from other tribes and dragons the school was quickly built and opened. The Tribes all agreed that once a Viking turned fifteen they would have the option to go to the school and become a master dragon rider. And so the School of Dragons was born. My brother, Torvald who was seventeen at the time, was one of the first students at the school. However our family's farm hit hard times after a bad harvest season and he ended up leaving the school in the middle of the year. He helped my dad around the farm and after his eighteenth birthday he was old enough to enlist in the Berk Guard.

With the extra money he gets from being in the Berk Guard and both of us working extra hours on the farm we've slowly gotten our farm back to its former glory. Now he spends most of his days doing basic training, so I've been trying to help out as much as I can. I turned fifteen a few weeks ago and I want to go to the School of Dragons with all my heart, but my parents need me especially now that Torvald isn't around to anymore. My duty is to my family, but that didn't stop me from dreaming.

The slight burning smell snapped me out of my musings. I loudly muttered, "Son of half-..." "Better hope your mother doesn't hear you speaking like that." I hear an amused voice say behind me. I jerked and swiftly turned around with wide eyed look on my face. I felt my shoulders relax as soon as I realized it was just my dad, Rangvald.
