The first thought I had when we leapt into the clear blue sky was, 'Oh great Odin I'm going to die!' Hiccup most have noticed my reaction since he immediately started tutoring me on how to fly. "Ok you're doing good. It's beautiful up here, don't you think?" He said wistfully I looked back for a second and could see his facial expression was peaceful. I started to relax as I realized that this wasn't very scary at all. I stopped focusing on trying not to crash and instead started taking in the beautiful sight. "Toothless and I love flying" I looked all around me. We were high above the clouds so I high I couldn't even see the ground. We were completely surrounded by fluffy clouds. They were tinted in gold from the setting sun making it feel like a separate world. I've never felt more at peace.

Hiccup then helped focus on actually flying toothless as right now we were only gliding. "Ok so Toothless is already an expert flyer. All you have to do is tell him where to go." I nodded and gave him my undivided attention as he showed my how to fly. Lean forward, butt slightly off the saddle to speed up. Lean down and back in the saddle to slow down. Shift your weight right and left to turn. Pull back on the saddle to go up and push lightly down on the saddle and stay flush to the saddle to dive.

After I got the hang of flying I followed Hiccup's direction as we flew in peace the sun setting deeper into the horizon as the sky continued to darken. I'm glad I decided to wear long sleeves as the air was a bit crisp as the night drew near. I took deep breath in, relishing in the perfect scenery. "It's beautiful huh?" I was startled at Hiccup's voice, forgetting that he was even there. I looked back at him and saw his soft and gentle smile. "It's beautiful. I've never felt so..." His eyes glimmered with amusement and understanding as he finished my sentence. "Free." I nodded and continued enjoying the flight.

About fifteen minutes of flying I started to see a large Island. As we flew closer I could see more and more details of the island. It looked like it had a bunch of giant rocks mounted together forming a large rock wall surrounding the entire island. I wasn't sure why Hiccup lead us here, where was the school? "Where are we?" I asked no longer able to hold in my curiosity. Instead of answering my question he replied, "Hang on! This is going to get a little intense." I gave a confused look, but he just smirked at me. I looked forward once more and immediately Toothless picked up speed.

Within seconds we were right in front of the island about to crash into it. I gasped turning my head away and clamping my eyes shut. My whole body was tensed up into a tight coil in preparation for the inevitable collision. It never came. After a moment, I opened my eyes and saw us flying through a large crack in the wall. We swerved through and out of the crack and there it was, the School of Dragons. I was awestruck at the site.

I realized that wasn't an island of rock but a caldera. We flew down and landed on to the landing platform. The boat from Berk just docking as we landed. I slipped out of the saddle and looked at the site of the school. Hiccup came up from behind me smiling at me. "Beats taking the boat, right? Welcome to the School of Dragons!" He said his voice full of pride as he gestured at the main buildings of the school setting on the cliff. I was still in awe of it. A second later I felt a light tap on my shoulder and turned to see Hiccup was pointing. "Looks like the other students are arriving." The students started gathering up on the lading pad having to walk up the stairs from the boat. It didn't take long for them to notice us.
