Amanda's POV
Nick and Lea walked in holding hands. "You two must've had one good talk in the kitchen," I smirked.
"Shut up," Nick nodded.
"Nick respects that I am being careful with myself," Lea sighed. "I know Nick a lot better than he knows himself."
"Oh," I was bummed. "That's not as interesting as a sex story."
"Didn't happen," Lea replied. "I want to show you guys something." She took off her charm bracelet and got the key charm and unlocked the locked door. "Come on." She put the bracelet back on her and we followed her down the steps. "Two doors." She opened one of them. "This is my dance studio being in prep schools, Mom requested that I be in dance. Maybe one day I'll dance for all of you." She closed the door. "And this is my recording studio." We walked into the studio and closed the door. Lea got into the booth. "Count down from three and then press that green button and when the song ends press the red."
Lea put on headphones. "Three, two, one," I sighed and pressed the green button.
Lea stood in front of the mic. "Down to earth. Keep 'em falling when I know it hurts. Going faster than a million miles an hour. Trying to catch my breath some way, somehow," Lea sang. "Down to earth. It's like I'm frozen, but the world still turns. Stuck in motion, but the wheels keep spinning 'round. Moving in reverse with no way out." She smiled at Nick. "And now I want step closer to being two steps for from you. When everybody wants you, everybody wants you." She took a deep breath. "How many nights does it take the count the stars? That's thr time it would take to fix my heart. Oh, baby, I was there for you. All I ever wanted was the truth. Yeah, yeah." Nick smiled at her. I could tell the two still loved each other. "How mini nights how do you wish someone would stay? Lie awake only hope in there okay. I never kinda all of mine. If I tried, I know it would feel like infinity." The song was fading out so I hit the red button. Lea walked out of the booth. "I can sing."
"You can sing," Nick repeated. "You can sing. That is something I didn't know about you."
"Nick, I've been in prep schools all my life," Lea nodded. "Mom wanted me to take music and dance as extracurriculars."
"Well, it surely paid off," I smiled. "You have an amazing voice."
"Thank you," Lea smiled. "But no one else can know about this. Okay?"
"Why?" Nick asked. "You can share it with the whole world."
"It's kind of a last resort for me," Lea nodded. "Blake is trying to figure out my secret talent and I want him to keep thinking."
"Lea, it's obvious that you don't wanna work for your mom," I shrugged. "Just let them know."Jayk's POV
The next morning came along. The two detectives along with Lea weren't to be found. I was in the living room with Blake and Nova. "Nova, you must know where she is," I sighed.
"She had to talk to Nick and that's all I know," Nova sighed. Blake and I exchanged glances, letting each other know what probably happened last night. "Let me in on the bro telepathy, please. What do you know that I don't?"
"Well, Nick and Lea —" Blake was cut off as the door behind me opened up to reveal Lea and the two detectives. "I thought we weren't supposed to know."
"The one thing I wanted to keep a secret," Lea sighed. "Now, I guess, is time for you to know. Come on."
"Why are you still in your dress?" Nova asked.
"I haven't slept," Lea shrugged. We walked down the stairs and into a room through the door on the left. "This is where I spent half of my time when I was here. I danced my heart out."
"That's one," Blake nodded.
"The other half," Lea sighed as she lead us into a recording studio. She walked into the booth. "I spent here."
"Press it?" Amanda asked.
"No, just listen," Lea sighed.
"Okay," Amanda nodded.
"We're only getting older, baby. And I've been thinking about you lately. Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes?" Lea sang. No instruments or anything. "Everything that you've ever dreamed of disappearing when you wake up. But there's nothing to be afraid of even when the night changes. It will never change me and you..."
Blake was nudging me with his arm. "What?" I asked as Lea walked out of the booth. "Is that the only thing?"
"I recorded Infinity last night," Lea nodded. She playback the track and stopped it. "That's about it." Lea must've noticed Blake nudging me, "Blake, something wrong with your arm?"
"No," Blake nodded. "But you can sing. You can do that and don't have to go back to NYC."
"Actually, I've been thinking about it," Lea sighed.
"Don't say you want to go back to NYC," Nova nodded. "This is what we wanted. So that we can live together and stay together. Lea, don't let me down."
"Lea, we have to take you to the label and get you signed," I nodded. "Blake agrees with me."
