Chap 16 "Infinity"

Nova's POV
After a good year of touring, we were finally home in California. "That was probably the longest tour of my life," I replied.
"The longest tour we've ever taken," Blake replied. "I barely even knew some of the places existed."
"Now you do," Lea replied. "Come on." Lea pulled me down to the studio and we got into the booth. Blake and Jayk got down there. "Infinity cover by One Direction."
"Let's do it," I nodded. We put on the headphones and stood in front of a mic. "Okay."
Blake hit record and the music started playing. "Down to Earth. Keep on falling when I know it hurts. Going faster than a million miles an hour. Trying to catch my breath some way, somehow," Lea sang as she smiled. "Down to Earth. It's like I'm frozen, but the world still turns. Stuck in motion, and the wheels keep spinning 'round. Moving in reverse with no way out."
"And now I'm one step closer to being two steps far from you," I sang. "When everybody wants you, everybody wants you."
"How many nights does it take to count the stars? That's the time it would take to fix my heart," we both sang. Jonnie and Drew walked in. I looked at Lea and she nodded her head. "Oh, baby, I was there for you. All I ever wanted was the truth, yeah, yeah. How many nights have you wished someone would stay? Lie awake only hoping they're okay. I never counted all of mine. If I tried, I know it would feel like infinity."
We break because we were doing our version of the song. "Eyes can't shine. Unless there's something burning bright behind," I sang. "Since you went away, there's nothing left in mine. I feel myself running out of time."
"And now I'm one step closer to being two steps far from you," Lea sang. "When everybody wants you, everybody wants you." Lea smiled at me. "How many nights does it take to count the stars? I took a deep breath. "How many nights have you wished someone would stay? Lie awake only hoping they're okay," I sang. "I never counted all of mine. If I tried, I know it would feel like infinity."
"Infinity, infinity, yeah," we sang.
"Infinity," Lea faded out.
Blake stopped recording. "Good job ladies," Jayk said through the mic.
We got out of the booth. "Sorry Jonnie, we were just messing around," I smiled.
"Drew, get to work on a song for Lea and let that have background harmonies that Nova can sing," Jonnie nodded. "Nova, you're going to end up singing background harmonies for Lea. Sometimes you'll be able to sing full verse duets with Lea."
"You're a part-time artist," Jayk smiled.
"At least we are both making money," I smiled. "And doing so with my other half."
