I stumbled behind him as he continued to walk. He had a tight grip on my wrist and I could feel it slowly becoming numb. I decided I to be patient because he obviously was planning on telling me right now.
The cool breeze kissed my skin as we stepped out the gym doors and onto the vacant football field. The sun hidden behind thunderous clouds. Leaves moving across the damp grass as we made our way to the bleachers.
When we stopped he finally let go of my hand and I sat down remaining silent. Biting my tongue because I had somethings to say to him about the way he was acting. I watched as he paced back and forth, glaring at the ground, his frame shaking as he took deep breaths. He stopped opened his mouth to say something-shut it then continued the pacing. He did that five times before I couldn't take it anymore.
"Spit it out!"I demanded .He made a grumbling noise and came to sit next to me.
"That filthy bloodsucker had the nerve to come here!"he huffed.
"What?"
"He's a vampire!"He roared, jumping back up to his feet and pacing back and forth now in lightning speed.
I was shocked. By his fast, swift movements and also by the words that came out of his mouth. Was there anything normal in this world? Were there different creatures lurking around every corner. I didn't know what to believe anymore.
The living dead. Cold, stone hard, souless beings. That walked the earth. Living off humans blood and their fear. Their beauty was breath-taking. I remebered back to the sharp, angular features of the guy in my dreams and reality.
He looked so human but I was wrong. He was a murderer and always will be. I didn't know why he was in my dreams or how he even fit into the setting of it. The ice cold storm, freezing my skin as it settled around me. No way out. His dark figure watching me intently. Me never leaving his sight.
Was he the death of me?
It could be possible. The dream was a setting of death of murder but it was just a dream. What could he possible do that could harm me? Drink my blood? That hardly seemed scary or as threatening as the dead promised.
All my thoughts were dismissed as billy just sat down and went completely still.
"Billy?"I asked.
No answer.
"Billy?"I shouted. He was standing in front of me in a flash.
"What!"He growled.
I stood up hugging him like my life depended on it. I could feel his body slowly un tense and relax. His breathing becoming normal and his grip tightened on me.
We needed each other in life. To get through it and not go crazy from all it's challenges. As long as we took one day at a time I knew we would make it through life. Strong, never giving up.
"Just don't let him get to you."I whispered. He simply nodded,Sliding his hands down my body, one hand closed over mine.
We walked through the field and back to the school, hand in hand. I stared at the sky as the first drops of water broke through the clouds. I sighed as we stepped in the warm surroundings of the hallway. Billy let go of my hand and walked to his class which was in the other direction of mine.
I stopped in front of the door when I caught sight of him. He was perched on a desk in the back of the room. Godlike and hot as ever. His eyes made contact with mine as a smirk grew on his face. One I had a feeling I was getting use to.
"Care to join us Ms. Anderson?"The teacher addressed me. I nodded and proceeded to the only seat left and you wouldn't believe where it was. It was right next to him. I should of know this would happen to me.
I slid into the seat, looking straight ahead. Not even bothering to acknowledge his presence.
The class passed slowly, uneventful as we took notes and did our classwork. The bell rang and I started packing my things. someone tapped my desk and I looked up. I watched his back retreat has he left the classroom. I glanced down at my desk. A neatly, folded note laid on my desk. I stood up placing it in my pocket heading to the girls bathroom.
I didn't want to take a chance of someone else reading the note. I stepped into a stall, locking it behind me. I leaned against the door as I slowly unfolded the note.
I took deep breaths as I reread the notes careful. I couldn't help the sobs that escaped from me. I cried as my frame shook. Why did this always happen to me!? I dropped to the ground, rolling up in a ball. Taking deep, breaths. Trying to calm my self down.
His message ran through my mind over and over again.
Did you sleep well last night? I can promise you one thing. Every night will be accompanied by my presence in your dreams. Every single night.
~Darian
The words were so simple but held so much meaning behind them. I couldn't help but fear what the darkness of sleep would bring. I had to hold my self together because there was no way in hell billy would find out about this. The lies just keep Piling up, don't they?
