Ally's nerves had escalated tenfold by the time her shift finished. She had told her three other work mates about what had happened, and they didn't believe her until she got them to take a small sneaky peak into the coffee lounge.
Harry had finished his vanilla latte and was sitting patiently in the booth closest to the fire place. He enjoyed how relaxing and warm it was, and he couldn't stop running his long fingers over the cream suede seat he was sitting on. He was hidden from view of the people who walked past, so he didn't have people mobbing him like he normally did, and he liked that he was able to have a little privacy with Ally.
Harry kept checking his watch every few minutes, anxious to see the beautiful girl again, and when she finally came out into the coffee lounge walking towards him, he honestly could not believe how lucky he had been that afternoon.
Ally was holding a porcelain cup in each hand, another vanilla latte for Harry and a hot chocolate for herself. She gripped the handles so tightly her fingers began to turn white, and she had never been so nervous in her life. She felt her palms get sweaty, and she suddenly felt extremely self conscious of the way she looked.
But Harry was gazing at Ally as if she lit up the room. He noticed she wasn't wearing any make up, and he absolutely loved it. He never understood why she always used to cover up her little freckles on her pale cheeks, but the times she did let them show were the times Harry used to play dot to dot. He would draw invisible lines between her freckles with his fingers until Ally would swipe his hand away because it tickled her.
Ally sat down in the seat opposite of Harry and gently put the cups down on the glass coffee table in the middle.
"I made you another latte" she mumbled quietly as she watched him wrap his big hands around the cup and brought it to his mouth. He parted his lips and took a small sip. Harry closed his eyes, enjoying the warm milky vanilla.
Ally watched, totally fascinated at how wonderfully beautiful the young man was sitting right in front of her, and she felt a rush of shivers travel down her spine for what felt like the millionth time that day.
Harry sat the steaming cup down on the table and leaned forward slightly, resting his arms on his knees.
"How have you been?" he asked Ally, smiling sweetly at her as he waited for her to speak.
"I've been well"
Ally had somewhat been well majority of the time, but there was a time where she had been at her lowest, and it wasn't just from their breakup. She decided to keep quiet about it. Harry didn't have to know.
"What about you?" Ally asked as she took her warm cup in her hands and brought it to her mouth "How have you been?"
A million things had raced through Harry's busy mind at Ally's question. He could tell her about the missed interviews and conferences after their breakup in fear of being asked about her, or he could tell her that he'd been sick for weeks after he left her. To be truthful to himself, Harry had not been well. Not at all, but he couldn't bring himself to dull the mood and tell her that.
"I've been great" he lied.
Ally put her cup down next to Harry's and smiled at him. She suddenly realized that her work mates had decided to play the radio very, very lightly through the speakers around the coffee lounge, and she mentally thanked them for breaking the awkward silence when Harry and Ally weren't talking.
"So, you graduated?"
She looked up at Harry as he asked her, and noticed how curious his gorgeous green eyes were.
"Yeah" she answered "I graduated in early November"
"You looked beautiful. The dark purple dress suited you"
