Quick little note, the first few chapters are very cliché and I'm sorry. The days are completely crazy so just ignore that because I'm trying to fix it, I really hope you enjoy the story. All the love! xx

Taylor's POV

"Ughhhhh." I slapped my hand on the alarm clock next to my bed. Time for school.

I sat up and looked around my room. White walls, clothes, trash on the floor, black dresser with the drawers open, and everything was in it's place. I got up and walked into the bathroom, my body sore from the night before. I looked in the mirror at my bruised face. Flashbacks of last night came back to me. A fist hitting below my eye, a knee to my gut, and a blow to the head. I shook away the images of it, I just need to clear my head. I took a quick shower and got dressed. I pulled on my white speckled v-neck and skinny jeans. Turning to the mirror, I fixed my long brown hair into a side braid, then moving a few strands in front of my face. I looked at the bruises and cuts and sighed. I grabbed my makeup bag and covered the black and blue bruises that were on my face. When I was done I put on my black, Ray Ban glasses so I could see better. I walked downstairs grabbed an apple and headed out the door. I always walk to school, since I don't have money for a car.

When I got to school I walked to my locker, trading my bag for my books. I walked to my first class, science with Mr. Scott. I hate science, the class and the people. The class is full of people who are popular, rich, and who care less about anyone but themselves.

"Alright class pass up your homework." Mr. Scott said as the bell rung.

I grabbed my paper from my folder. Crap, it was only half done. Oh well, I handed it to the front and waited for the class to end. When it did end I got up and walked to my next class.

Today was just normal, nothing special ever happened.

Finally around noon the lunch bell rang. I walked toward the cafeteria, not excited for food, but for fresh air I got to have at lunch. I grabbed an apple and water, and headed toward the outside benches. I sat at my usual bench. Looking into the cafeteria window I saw normal happy teenagers who have families, friends, and lives that they get to go home to. I wish I had that...the bell rang snapping me from my thoughts.

My next class was English, my favorite. I got to write and do whatever I wanted, it was the one class I couldn't be judged. Yesterday's assignment was to write a free verse poem, it wasn't that hard. The one quirk about this class is that we read almost everything in front of the class. I hate public speaking, and I'm not very good at it.

"Okay class I assume you did your homework. Today we are going to read your poems." Mrs. Hart said. "Ummm Austin you go first."

I sat back in my chair and focused on Austin, as he began his poem

I thought about his poem as I softly clapped with the class. Austin was a fairly popular guy, but when it came to school he just didn't try. Austin was known to the school as a mystery. Most people call him the bad boy, since he's been to jail for two hours. Personally I think he is just another kid with a perfect life who could care less.

"Taylor your turn." Mrs. Hart said pointing at me with her pen.

OK You can do this don't panic. I got up with my head down and walked to the front of the classroom. I looked at my paper and began. As I read I couldn't focus do to the hysteria of laughter coming from the back of the room.

I finished, rushing back to my seat. I was listening to another poem when a note landed on my desk. Confused I opened it.

'I liked your poem.' -Austin. I was confused, angry even. What kind of joke is this? I decided to ignored the note and throw it away.

When class was over I grabbed my messenger bag and headed out the door.

Austin's POV (before English class)

"Okay man, let's make a bet." Blake my best friend said.

"Okay, shoot." I replied, sitting down at the table.

"I bet that you can't get...Taylor Parks, the shy freak, to fall in love with you in two weeks." He said with a smug smile, nodding in the direction of the benches where she sat.

"Hmm, ok I'll take that bet, but make it three weeks. And if I win I get fifty dollars and if I lose you get fifty dollars." He nodded his head agreeing to my suggestion, and we shook hands.

The bell rang ending lunch and I walked to English, ready to win the bet.
