Beep...

Beep...

Beep...

What was that annoying beeping noise?

My eyes slowly fluttered open as I took in my surroundings and searched for the sourse of that annoying sound!

I was taken aback by the alarming amount of white. Where was I?

I thought a moment and it all came back to me.

The pool.

I searched the room frantically and saw that I was not alone. There were 3 other beds in the room I was in, by now I knew it was a hospital.

On the bed directly next to me was Jasper, sound asleep. On the bed next to him was his sister, Elizabeth also asleep and finally Nathan, who was awake, but too far away to talk to.

As I continued to look around I noticed the 6 chairs with people in them along the wall closest to the door.

My dads were in the chairs on the end, Aunt Molly and Uncle Jim were in the middle and my other Uncles were on the far end, closest to Nathan.

Father (Sherlock) had his fingers steeped in a praying position below his head with his eyes closed, while dad (John) rested his head on his shoulder, clearly asleep.

My stomach grumbled, how long had it been since I'd eaten?

"F-Father?" I croaked quietly, knowing he, unlike everyone else, wasn't actually asleep.

My eyes shot open and immediately landed on an awake Hamish.

"Father?" he repeated a little louder, with a more steady voice.

"Hold on Hamish, daddy's still asleep, I'm coming." I slowly lifted John's head off my shoulder and decided not to wake him, he hadn't slept for a few days and he needed the rest.

I got up and in 2 strides was holding Hamish in my arms. He buried his face in my coat while silent tears of relief cascaded down my face.

"I love you father." I heard Hamish whisper into my coat.

"I love you to Hamish." I whispered back.

Suddenly there was a noise behind me and I saw John opening his eyes. When he saw Hamish he stood up and came to join me in hugging him.

"Oh Hamish, you gave us quite a scare!" John chuckled nervously, trying to break the tension.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean t-" I cut him off.

"Shh, Hamish it's not your fault, daddy just meant he was worried." I said quietly.

"Umm daddy?" Hamish asked after a bit more hugging and John and I crying.

"Yes Hamish?" John questioned.

"Can I have something to eat?" John smiled a little.

"Of course, what would you like? Father and I will go fetch it for you." Hamish told John what he wanted and I opened the door.

As we walked to the cafeteria I reached down and grasped John's hand. John jumped a little, but squeezed my hand in comfort as we walked down the hall.

"Do you think he'll hate me?" I asked suddenly as we became in sight of the cafeteria doors.

"What?" John asked incredulously, caught a little off guard.
