Let The Games Begin!

Devin's P.O.V. -

I sighed quietly as I walked slowly into the library. Claire's been acting weird and she won't tell me what's wrong. It's making my wolf and demon very anxious.

I looked around the library when I felt a cold chill, followed by what sounded like whispering. The whispers grew angry before calming and begining to fade. It sent chills down my spine as it sounded as if they were heading for Claires room.

I ran out of the library and ran upstairs to her room. As I grew closer, the louder they were. "When will it be time?" a voice suddenly asked from the room across from Claires room.

"Soon." another voice replied, sounding more menacing. It sent a deep chill through me as I listened quietly.

"Do yoy think she will be able to do it?" the other voice asked and a laugh soon followed his question.

"Not only will she be able to do it, it might just send her into a crazed mind and have her doing things she never wants to do . . . not after what happened last time anyway." the dark voice said, a sort of sadistic sound seeping into his voice as he spoke.

There was the sound of clapping before the other said, "that's good, right master??"

"Yes, its very good. It means we don't have to do very much. Especially once she's done. Then we can quickly get her out of the way and continue on with the plan." the sadistic, deep voice said before it sounded as if they both vanished.

I walked into the room after a minute of it being quiet to find the room empty, as if no one was there. Did I imagine that or . . . was it something else? I sighed before leaving the room.

What I found outside the room sent me into a slight panic as I looked around the hall with my eyes. The hall was suddenly very dark, the only light coming from torches that were on the wall that weren't there before. What is going on around here?!?!

I quickly ran to Claires room and threw the door open to find that it didn't look like her room anymore. It looked more like a place a little girl would have a tea party or something. There were creepy dolls and stuffed animals all over the floor and in chairs. Most of them facing the door and seemed as if they were staring at me.

Why do kids like those things?!?! They give me the creeps, especially since it almost seems as if they were staring into your soul. I looked around a little more and couldn't see Claire anywhere in the room. So I slowly walk out, watching the dolls the whole time.

You never know, one could be possessed and kill you when you have your head turned away. Once I was out I closed the door quickly and looked down the hall. Whatever was going on, this didn't seem to be my house any more.

Suddenly I heard a whisper and it said, "lets play a game mister!" it sounded like a little girl and she giggled softly.

"What kind of game?" I asked skeptically as I slowly walked down the hall.

"If you can find Miss Claire before midnight, I'll give her back to you, but, when the time hits 12:01 she is ALL mine!!" the little girl shouted excitedly.

"JUST GIVE CLAIRE BACK TO ME!!" I shouted as I opened the next door to look inside.

"I can't do that mister, and if you refuse to play, I'll just keep her. After all, it's always been fun playing with Miss Claire!!" she cheered happily, sounding as if she was dancing around.

"Alright, I'll play your game. What do I have to do?" I asked as I glanced around the room. The first thing I noticed is a chess game set up in their begining places. The next thing I noticed is the girl that was slightly see through sitting in one of the chairs.

"The first game, before you may continue to search for Miss Claire, is chess. You must beat me at a game of chess! Also, you have 3 trys, if you fail to beat me 3 times, there will be heavy consequences. But if you beat me, then you get to move on to the next game!! Good luck mister!!" she said before making her first move, leaving me to sit and think up a plan of attack as I made my first move as well.

This is going to be a tough game to win, after all, this girl seemed to know what she is doing.
