Dig a Little Deeper

With Katie and Sarah off to look through Laura's things and James going to visit Shania who was the last person with Laura the night she died the remaining three boys just had to sit and wait, is Jack really alive or is the mind of a crazy killer that has been waiting and plotting. 

"What do you want to do" Jai asked the boys getting fed up of Skip missing his mouth trying to catch jellybeans in mid air "we can't exactly go anywhere we need to wait on the others" Luke replied to him also fixated on Skip struggling with the task that he had created "Skip please stop that your annoying me" Beau said harshly, Skip immediately stopped and looked around "what i do this when i get bored it keeps my mind busy" Jai looked at him funny "what mind you don't have a mind your an idiot" he fired the insult at Skip. 

Beaus phone rang "it's James" Beau answered the call "hey beau i'm with Shania and we are coming back to the house" James sounded concerned "James is there something wrong" Beau leaned forward alarmed with the tone of voice James used "we will be there in 5 minutes" with that being said James then ended the call "what is it" Jai said looking right at Beau "he just said that he and Shania are making there way back here" Beau answered him sounding confused. "So what has she got that we don't know about" Luke asked the rest of them "she was the last one with Laura that night surely she can tell us something that is helpful" Skip added "with any luck we can figure this out and it will all be over" Jai said to them all "yeah but when it does end whatever way it goes how do we explain the fact that we drove off with the evidence and cleaned it up" Luke asked and it set them all thinking. 

The front door opened and the four boys stood to their feet in anticipation. James walked through the door followed by Shania "guys this is Shania" James introduced the girl standing nervously with black jeans, white top and a black leather jacket "hey guys" she said with a smile "so what did you find out" Skip asked impatiently, the other boys gave him and annoyed look for the rude statement that he had just made "Shania said Beau did find her and asked her to go to the rocks to get Laura because she refused to go with him" James told the boys "i went up to get her as soon as Beau had told me where she was i went up there and she was sitting alone i asked her what she was doing she looked up at me and she was crying saying she didn't know what to do and that's when i saw it" Shania stopped she couldn't speak anymore "what did you see" Beau asked her going forward and putting his hand on her arm comforting her. 

"When i looked up i seen someone standing there watching i couldn't tell who it was exactly it was too dark i told Laura that we should go back down to where it was light and i could see her properly she jumped down off of the rocks and we left when i looked back to see if they were still there they weren't they were gone" Shania looked scared and tormented as if she was back there in that moment again. James looked at the rest of the boys "i don't think i'm seeing things i think whoever has done this is actually following and watching us" James explained seriously "we turned up at the wrong place at the wrong time and now we're being targeted by them for her murder" Luke added "ok so what do we do now" Skip asked "we wait for Katie and Sarah to see if they find anything" Jai said as he sat down. "Wait what do you mean find anything" Shania asked "James didn't tell you what's happened" Skip asked her and she shook her head "no just that you guys found Laura but drove off and left her despite Luke telling you guys to call for help" Luke turned to Shania "we have found out that someone is trying to frame us and that person is supposed to be dead, Jack Melrose Laura's ex boyfriend, Katie found his print on a letter sent to us and a matching one on a letter that he left for Laura the night he killed himself" Luke said "supposedly killed himself" Beau added to the end of Luke's explanation "so you mean to tell me that a dead boy has came back for revenge on his ex girlfriend murdered her and is now trying to frame you guys" Shania said it out loud trying to figure it out still. 

Just then the front door swung open and in burst Katie "guys you have to look at all of this" she was trying to catch her breath with Sarah following behind her "what is all that" Jai asked looking at the two bags that they were carrying "this is all the stuff that Jack sent Laura right up until the night he died but the thing is he was still sending things after he was buried" Luke looked at Katie as she emptied the bag on the floor and got down on her knees scrambling through it all "look at this, he sent her a letter saying that they would be together again soon" Jai got down with her to take a look at the letter "this was sent after he died" Jai looked up at the rest of the boys. Beau bit his finger nails out of nervousness "so what does that mean" Beau asked pulling his finger away from his mouth and crossing his arms "it means that we might be right Jack isn't dead and he came back for revenge on Laura" Skip looked at James who looked at Jai who then looked at Luke. "This is messed up" Shania sat down on the couch vacantly staring at the wall. "i think we have to go back to her house and see if we missed anything i have a feeling there's more than what we got" Katie said looking at Sarah she nodded and agreed with her. 

That night when everyone was asleep James was woken by a crashing noise, he jumped up out of bed and turned his room light on.  He opened his door as quietly as possible and went in to Luke's room "Luke" he whispered for Luke to just grunt and then turn over in his bed "Luke i think there's someone outside the house" James shook Luke to try and wake him up  "what James it's probably just a cat knocking something over" Luke said still half asleep, but again another crash came and Luke sat up in his bed "i don't think that was a cat unless a tiger is loose in the streets" James said sacred "right ok we will go and check it out" Luke said getting out of bed. James and Luke made there way down the stairs tiptoeing so they didn't wake anyone else or disturb whoever it was out side of the house. Luke stopped and turned to look at James when they heard more movement. Luke put is finger to his lip to signal to James not to make a noise. They waited until they could hear no more movement and started to move slowly down the last of the stairs. 

"what do we do now" James whispered "you take the back and i take the front" Luke whispered back, James nervously nodded his head and they split. James carefully looked out of all the windows at the back of the house to see if he could find a sign of life but all he could see was the still night sky and the streetlights. "James come here" Luke called and James went running to where Luke was when he got there he stood in shock at what he seen. "What do we do" James asked Luke but Luke did not answer "go and wake the rest of the boys" Luke instructed and James done just that. The sound of the other three bounding down the stairs after James made Luke jump "Luke what is it" Beau said looking out of the window "what the fuck is that" Beau asked "it's what it looks like it's a memorial for us and Laura" Luke explained "holy shit we need to get rid of that before anyone sees" Skip said sounding serious "we can't go out just now we don't know if whoever done it is still lurking out there" James added making sure no one tried to leave the house "ok we will all stay in here and at first light we will go out and get rid of it" Jai said sitting down on the couch. 

The early morning light came and Beau jumped up "guys wake up" he said loud enough to have them all wake "is it time" Skip asked "yeah it's time but whoever done that last night has been back" Beau said walking to the window "what do you mean" James said then following him over "this can't be good" he said staring at the further creation. The five boys were faced with what looked like a scarecrow dressed in black and a sign saying "dig a little deeper" on it's chest. Luke's phone rang and everyone jumped "Luke you have to see what i found" Katie said "what did you find" Luke asked her "on Laura's walls there was messages" Luke looked up at the boys "what kind of messages" he asked her "ones you can only see with a UV light, when i put it to the walls it came up" Luke turned his back "well what did the messages say" he asked her "they said that Laura better be at the meeting point and at the date of the party or everyone she loved and knew would die" Luke dropped his phone and Beau was quick to pick it up "Katie whoever done this to Laura was here last night they left us a message, it was two memorials one for us and one for Laura and also a scarecrow with a note left saying dig a little deeper" Beau was freaked out and scared "stay there don't leave the house i'm coming over i will get Sarah and Shania stick together boys whoever this is they are dangerous" Katie hung up the phone and left the boys to stare at what was left for them
