(Ashton's point of view bc I didn't know what else to write. Also, Luke's abusive relationship is heavily mentioned in this. Sorry :( )

Hey this is Calum. Sorry I can't take your call right now...actually no, I'm not sorry. Why am I apologising? Why aren't you apologising? You should apologise tbh. I'll be waiting, k?
Ashton sighed. That's the fifth time he's heard Calum's dorky voicemail today.
Usually Calum picks up on the second or third ring, probably not even checking the caller ID.
Today he hadn't though, which was really strange. It left Ashton wondering if something happened to Calum, instantly jumping to the worst conclusions.
So maybe Ashton worries too much. But hey, can you blame him? Calum honestly gets himself stuck in the worst situations.
Ashton forced himself to stop acting like a worried mother, and finally forgot to worry when his phone rang.
Oh good, Calum's ringing me back to tell me to stop worrying and that he's fine.
Except when Ashton answered the phone, it was Luke who greeted Ashton.
Ashton heard someone else yelling in the background.
Something's wrong...
"Hey, Ash," Luke said in a hushed tone.
'Hi Luke," Ashton said, sounding a bit confused. "Why're you whispering?"
"He's here again, and he's mad at me," Luke whispered into phone. He sounded like he had been crying.
"Fu--okay Luke, is he throwing things again? Has he hurt you? Where are you right now?"
"He's--", there was a loud crash on the other sound of the phone and Ashton heard Luke scream.
"Go away go away goaway! G-get ou-out of m-my house!"
Ashton wanted to cry, and scream and beat Luke's boyfriend up. All he could do was listen over the phone though.
Luke never described him as being this violent.
"Nonono st-stop! You said you'd never h-hurt me! Stop! Put the lamp down, please!"
"Luke? Hey Luke, are you there? Where are you? Are you at his place? I need to know where you are!"
"Please please please please don't hurt me!"
Ashton heard another smashing sound and more yelling. There was a sound of running and then the phone was picked up again.
"O-okay, I'm back now. He br-brought me back to h-his again a-and he was wor-worse than u-usual. Oh god should m-my head be bl-bleeding? That's b-bad I th-think."
Now Ashton was starting to feel the panic set in at full force.
"Okay, uh, oh gosh..." Ashton took a deep breath. "Luke, I need you to get out of there and get to somewhere where you're safe. Can you do that?"
"I c-can't. He lo-locked the d-door."
The phone was dropped again and Ashton heard the sound of dragging, and Luke was screaming again.
There was the sound of glass breaking. Suddenly his screams were cut off, instead replaced by his boyfriend yelling again.
"You useless filthy scum! Who said you were allowed to go out with him?! You're mine, and he's going to be mine too!"
Ashton couldn't just sit here and listen anymore. He had to do something. He couldn't go over there himself though, because that's just plain stupid. Luke's boyfriend is a psychopath, and he'd definitely hurt Ashton, as well as hurting Luke even more.
Instead, Ashton just did what anyone with a brain would do.
He called the police.
He knows that Luke always begs him not to do it. Luke doesn't want his boyfriend going to jail. But if Ashton had called the police on previous occasions, then Luke's violent relationship wouldn't still be going on, and Luke would be safe right now.
Ashton told the operator who he was, what was happening, who it was happening to, where it was taking place, and how he knows it was happening.
Then all he could do was wait.

A/N:
Is it too late to say sorry?
This chapter went downhill so fast oopsSorry Ashton might sound like a wimp for not going over there and beating up Luke's bf, but I made him do the only thing you should do when you see or hear anything like that.
You do not take action into your own hands and fight, even if it sounds brave. You should call the police, and they'll sort it out.
in most fanfictions I've read with domestic violence, someone always does something stupid and beats up the abuser, therefore getting hurt themselves in the process. It's stupid and it's telling people the wrong thing.
Okay sorry I got all serious but I felt the need to say that.
So, thanks to bringtheshotgvns for voting and commenting, it really makes my day
That's it, I think
Have a great day/evening/night
