(Jose's POV)
I woke in a burnt grassland. I saw a cruiser in front of me and when I looked up I saw the space battle still going on. The UNSC won the battle and were heading home. I heard a grunting noise. I looked to the side and saw Ryan. I limped to him and found out the horrible truth. He was stuck on a rod that went through his stomach. He was glad to see me and I asked what happened. He told me after I passed out that ship went down and crash landed the here. "What about Mikaela" I said. "I don't where she is, I thought you found her" he replied. He started coughing and spat out some blood. "Jose, I can't go on, I mean look at me even if you could get me out, I probably will just die, and besides, the rod is about two inches from my heart. Go on without me, I'll find my own way home" he said. "No I'm not leaving you, I lost Vincent and I can't lose another friend, I'm not leaving you behind" . "Dude you still got Mikaela, and I know you like her, she does to, so go for it, I made the same mistake your making, don't do the same I did." I sighed. "Keep fighting", he gave me his dog tag and I started nodding my head, "Spartans never die". After one last breath he died. I went down on my knees, I told myself I wouldn't lose him, and looked what happened. He's dead, gone with the wind. I got up and put my cracked helmet on. I'm gonna finish it for my brother, Vince, and Ryan. I going to finish what they started.
