Chapter 13: Sun hasn't died

Authors note: there will be kissing stuff but nothing serious so it's all good
Five months later

(Jose's POV)
Five months has gone by and a lot has happened in between. After Ryan's death I was fighting a lot more battles and have been killing more covenant than I could count. Mikaela's worried about me but I don't pay attention to it. I was just about to get on a pelican to support a fire team when she stopped me and told me to relax and rest. I began to talk to her to let me go but she just kissed me, soft gentle. That made relax a little. I sighed and finally she was happy that I took a day off. The next day I woke up to go get fresh air, the base was completely destroyed and we were the only ones to survive. I told Mikaela to get her gear and she did. We took off in a falcon and headed to were I know a base may still be intact. When we got there I saw the noble team, or what only seemed to be about 4 of them. When we got I talked to them. "It's good to see you Spartan" Carter the leader of the team said. I saluted him and he got the memo. "Where's the rest of the team, are on a different mission?" He sighed and spoke again. "The rest of the team was KIA,(killed in action)while on missions we were doing. This our new number six, he's a lieutenant". He nodded and saluted me. I nodded and he told me what they were doing. They were going to the pillar of autumn to deliver something from Doctor Halsey. I asked if I could come and he said we could use an extra Spartan. After discussing the plan I took Mikaela to a room, and told her what happened. She was mad and scared at me. I told her to relax and she was in near tears. "What if you don't come back" I stopped her there with a kiss. Then she pulled me closer and pretty soon it was like the last kiss we were ever going to have and to sum it up we were making out until Emile walked in. "Hope I'm not interrupting but we're leaving in five, get your gear" and he walked out. I could tell he was little uneasy after what he us doing. I turned and told Mikaela that I promised I would be back. She said she'll wait for me on a cruiser that would escort the pillar of autum. I said ok and kissed her one last time and then grabbed my helmet and weapons. Then I put on my helmet and joined the noble team to their mission.
