It is 2030. Just five years since the vampire invasion. Just five years since the disappearance of my father. In 2025 us humans were attacked by the order of the fang. The order of the fang is an elite group of the first vampires to walk upon the earth. Each member of the order was placed in an area with an army of fearless vampires. First, South America and Africa. Then, Asia and Australia. Next, Europe and Russia. Lastly, North America. Everything was horrid.
All I ever saw on tv was blood on the streets and everywhere. My mother and I were vulnerable to these vampires. Just before the invasion my father left us without a trace of where he was going and why. I didn't see my father very often because he was always busy with work and such. I would only get to see him once a week and during that time he was still working. I don't even know what his job is but I don't care. As long as my mom's around.
*Flashback*
My mom and I stayed in an underground room with food, water, and a queen sized bed during the invasion. The door to the room was cleverly covered with a light amount of grass and dirt so we could still open the door.
(A/N The door was kind of like the door that leads to an underground room during a tornado.)
We lived in a meadow near a forest in California so it was easy to hide the door. Footsteps would be heard from time to time but no one ever found the door. My mom and I were fine down there. It was a week now since the invasion so I was curious about what was outside. I told my mom, "Mom it's been a week now. Shouldn't we check outside?" She swallowed and reluctantly replied, "Very well but be careful. If you see someone, close the door and lock it as quickly but quietly as possible." I nodded and walked to the door.
I quietly unlocked the door and it creeked loudly as I opened it. I didn't worry about the grass and dirt on the door cause it was bassically glued to it. As I was observing the meadow, I noticed that it looked the same as the last time I saw it. Nobody was around and our house looked completely untouched. I closed the door and without locking it I rushed back to my mom to tell her the good news.
I practically yelled at my mom,"Mom! It's ok. We can go back home!" She looked at me and smiled widely. She said,"Ok. Let's get back home." She stood up from the wooden chair and walked with me back to the door. Together, we opened the door and went back home.
