Battle Mode (Chp. 15)

~Keri POV~

"I'm soooo bored. What do you want to do?" I asked Luke, smiling brightly.

We were inside the cabin rooms, in which we went to after I recovered from passing out. It is very hot outside, but not as bad since the wind is starting to pick up speed. I'm leaning on the wall and Luke is leaning on the edge on a bunk bed, both of us doing absolutely nothing productive.

"You seem happier than usual," Luke said, grinning.

"You've only met me for like what, two days? How would you know?" I said, raising my eyebrows.

"I am your mate," he said, smirking.

"Is that so?" I said, acting slightly surprised.

He raised his eyebrows at me. "Anyway, maybe we could go out for a swim or grab a desert. The weather here is pretty hot most of the time."

"But where can we swim?" I asked.

I haven't seen or heard of a beach, lake, river, or pool since I've gotten here. My mom would have told me if there was one. I used to take a swim in this one lake just a bit outside our home.

"There's a lake farther southwest, just along the border of our territory. Only Michael, Ashton, Calum, and I know about it though. I guess you call it our secret hangout area."

All of a sudden, Calum walked in with a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream in one hand, a spoon in the other.

"I decided to come in and see what you two have been smitten about," he said, eating a spoonful of his desert.

"Smitting? Not so much. We were just thinking of what to do since we're bored. We may be going swimming. Which reminds me... where did you get that ice cream? I haven't eaten much since I got here," I said and ironically, my stomach growled.

"See?" I said, rubbing my belly. "I need food."

Calum and Luke chuckled.

"Let's see... I just visited the lunchroom and today they're serving turkey, mash potatoes, green beans, chicken, rice, deserts, and a bunch of other foods I can't remember."

"Sounds good to me," I said, standing up straighter, and walking towards the door. "Food, here I come."

~Niall POV~

"Weapons?" I said.

"Check," Zayn reassured.

"Liquid silver?" I asked. With this, the werewolves will be knocked out cold just by the scent of it.

"Check," Harry said.

"Good. We're all set now," I said, smiling. This is the day I get her back. I just hope she's okay.

~Keri POV~

"Oh my gosh this chicken and rice is amazing!" I said after I swallowed my first bite.

"I know right!" Luke agreed. "Your mom is the best cook."

"Wait a second...my mom cooked this?!?"

Luke and Calum nodded.

"She never cooked this at home," I mumbled, pouting.

"Sorry hun, but I didn't know you liked eating so much."

I slightly jumped up from my seat. She surprised me, but that's not something really new, is it?

"Well now you know," I said, smiling. I started feeling light-headed. There was this scent. It made me feel like falling asleep, but my vampire side kept me awake. What is that?

"Mom, do you smell that?" I asked her.

She sniffed the air carefully, then fell back unconscious, another werewolf catching her. Then one by one, werewolves were fainting. Even Calum and Luke. Please don't be Liam. Please, please, please.

"Wake up," I told Luke, whacking his head. No response. I checked his pulse. Good, no one's dead, but I'm the only one awake.

I stood up from my seat and started walking outside causiously.

"Ok everyone's out cold. Now where is she..." I heard a faint voice say. It sounded so familiar... Niall?

I quietly neared toward the voice.

"Niall?" I whispered.

I heard feet shuffling. Then out no where, hands wrapped around my waist and I was being tightly hugged. Yep it's Niall.

"Keri! I'm so glad your okay. Everyone's been worrying about you. Are you hurt? Did they harm you in any way?" he said.

He let go of the hug smiling cheekily.

"I've been worrying about you too," I said. "I know this is going to sound weird, but my stay here was actually nice."

Niall showed a look of pure bewilderment.

"I have a lot to explain don't I..." I mumbled.

"It's fine. You can explain it later. Now, do you know where Eleanor is? Louis is still looking for her. Harry and Zayn are making sure no one wakes up," Niall told me."

"Um... Niall... I hate to have to say this, I really do, but Eleanor isn't here. Liam took her, but I know a way to find her. Now I know this going to sound even weirder, but we're going to need the help of werewolves if we want to save Eleanor."

julescool here :) Now the enemies need to become frienemies to save the life of a loved one. But what happens when Niall and Luke find out they are both mates to Keri? Ahh love triangles. How confusing, how blinding they can really be.
