Chapter 2: Haley and Austin

Haley POV

Mom and dad are leaving today. Again. I don't understand? Why did my parents have to be the best surgeons known in the US? Why not just like the state? I admit that it's nice to have the money to do whatever we want but I never see my parents! And my sister is away at college and my brothers live out of state with there families. I'm just glad I have Aly and Bree.

I'm going to there house tonight and can't wait. Even though I was there two days ago. I will be there for the whole week. My mom will be in Florida and my dad will be in Texas. Then they will both be in New York, which means they won't be back for 10 days. Well there's nothing I can do about it. I'm on my way to school already. My driver was early so I will get there a little early. I'm not sure what his name is? It's different every time. Mom and dad make sure of that. I'm not sure why? The only people who stay the same in my house is our housekeeper Linda and our cook Dorris. Otherwise mom and dad don't want me to get attached to very many of our "workers".

But it's different when I'm at Alysa's place. It feels more like home than my house does. Plus her family are the owners of apple, so their house is high tech and they are always testing the newest technology. But I am always one of the first to get a knew phone or laptop. They let me test things to.

We finally arrive at school and I get out to walk in. I'm hear early so I might as well help Linda in the office. Since Alysa's parents take care of most of the things in town, including the school, we always help out.

"Good morning Linda. Need any help this morning?" I ask her.

"Good morning Haley. I have some papers and announcements that you can run to students and staff members. And when your done I will have some more stuff. You have study hall today, right?" She asks me.

"Yes I do. So Aly and I will be helping today. I think Morgan is helping us today to." I tell her.

"Alright, I will see you when you come back." She says.

"Great. I will go get started." I reply.

First I go to the teachers lounge to stick some track shirt slips into Nancy's mailbox. It also looks like there are some order forms for staff member t-shirts, so I will put one in every teachers mailbox. Next I go to the cafeteria to give some slips to students. There's one for Ella so I give it to her. I move onto the boys table to see that there's one for Aaron. There is also one for Austin

Austin POV

Haley. She has taken over my mind. She is all I can ever think about. When she walks into the room it's like I'm a blind man seeing the sun for the first time. I have liked her since the day I met her in that park when we were three. That was thirteen years ago? Wow. I fell hard for her. I remember when I asked her out in 6th grade. She said no. The pain was to much. I couldn't take it. I then asked Amber out the next week. I hated it. She is so rude and respects no one. I dated her for a few months till I was feeling better. So then I ended it. But when I saw Haley in school the pain came back because I didn't have Amber to distract me.

Within a week I was back with Amber. I did this four more times. I made out with Amber once hoping to feel a connection like what I felt with Haley. At the beginning of 9th grade I ended it for real with Amber. She quickly moved on and found Trenton. I can tell she's happier now. But without her my mind went back to Haley. I asked out Monica soon after I ended it with Anna. I needed a distraction, but Monica treated me worse than Amber. I felt like her slave. But I was distracted and I couldn't feel the pain anymore. I eventually came to realize why I didn't feel the pain. It was because I wasn't feeling anything.
