Chapter 7: Suspicious

Jihyo's pov

"Enjoy your meal. " the waiter said.

The nicely browned steak garnished with a sprig of rosemary laid on the white circular plate.

"Wah! It looks good! Gomawo Chang joo oppa!" I exclaimed. I grabbed the metal fork and knife and cut the steak into bite-sized pieces. Browned on the outside, red on the inside - perfect.

As I savour the juicy meat, my phone vibrated. The screen light up showing a message notification from Gary oppa.

I swiped across the screen with my thumb and read the content of the message.

I stopped chewing and stared at my phone. Why does he want to meet me? My thoughts were running wild. Should I reject him?

"Jihyo-yah, gwaen-chan-ha?" I looked at Chang joo oppa who was giving me a what's-wrong face.

"Ne, oppa. Jamkkanman. " I took my phone and reply to Gary oppa message.

To Gary

I'll see you at your restaurant at 7pm tomorrow.

From Jihyo

I placed my phone into my bag and continue with the meal.

"Who was it? You looked nervous when you read the message." Even though I was not looking at him when he asked that, I could feel that he was staring at me intensely.

"It's my.. manager. She was just reminding me about my schedule for tomorrow." I lifted my head and smiled.

"Oh, I see.." he replied. "I thought it was Kang Gary." he continued.

'Kang Gary.' My chest feels tight upon hearing what Chang joo oppa said.

"Oppa, you're thinking too much. It's just my manager."

"Arasseo." he replied.

I could feel that he wasn't happy with my reply. But if he were to know that I'm meeting with Gary oppa, he will definitely stop me from doing so even if the reason for the meet up is for work purposes.
