Chapter 46: Crisis

Jihyo had more free time to be with Gary ever since her filming for Emergency Couple wrapped up. It was a Monday and as usual, she was scheduled to film Running Man in the morning.

Before she left, she slowly open the door to Gary's room and placed a small sticky note beside his bed. She knew his habit of sleeping totally naked after watching the Australia episode but luckily, he wore a pair of boxers when Jihyo entered. "I'll be back soon." she whispered to Gary who was sleeping soundly before leaving his house.

All eyes were fixed on her as she walked through SBS building. "What's going on?" she wondered. She took out her pocket mirror and checked her face but there wasn't anything on it.

She continues to walk to the members and observed the onlookers who were pointing their fingers towards her direction and talking among themselves. "Jihyo ssi, please come over for a moment." Taek pd signalled her and led her to a corner.

"I believed that you should know why I needed to talk to you." She gave him a bewildered look. "About the news, what are you going to do with it?" he continued.

"Taek pd, what are you talking about?" Jihyo looked even more confused than before. Eun wol didn't mention any news that was regarding about her. He was surprised that Jihyo wasn't aware of it. He took out his phone and scroll through. "You mean you don't know about this?" He passed her the phone. Her eyes widened as she gasped. "H..h..how..?" she stuttered and blinked rapidly, trying to process everything that was happening.

"Looks like you were really unaware of it. Anyway, I hope that you are professional enough to draw a line between personal and work. That's all that I want to say. Please get ready. Filming will start in about ten minutes."

"Ne, algesumnida." Jihyo replied and stood there thinking about what she should do. "How did this happened?" Her train of thoughts were disrupted by the vibration from her phone.

Seeing that it was her manager, she urgently answered the call. "Unnie! What's going on? I heard about it from Taek pd. What should I do now?"

"The both of you should had been more careful! Chang joo ssi called and said he wants to meet you tonight at his office. I will try my best to think of an idea. Call me once filming ends."

"Arasseo unnie." Jihyo ended the call as Taek pd notify her to return to the set. She scratched her head in frustration and ran back.

Gary woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. In a half-asleep state, he picked it up without looking at who the caller was.

"Yah! Why are you still sleeping at this hour? You just gotten yourself into a deep trouble!" Kwon rae shouted through the phone. Gary took the phone away from his ear briefly and look at the timing. It was only ten in the morning.

"What trouble are you talking about? I've been at home for the past few weeks." He replied rather slightly annoyed as he thought that his manager was playing a prank on him.

"You and Jihyo! It's all over the internet!"

"Yah, stop joking."

"I'm serious! I will text you the link to the news." Kwon rae hang up the call and send the url of the news to Gary.

Gary tap on the url and he was shocked by the content of it. He tried to contact Jihyo but she wasn't able to pick it up as filming had started. He glanced over at the side table and noticed a note placed beside the table lamp.

Gary oppa,

Breakfast is on the table and I've placed your medicine in the little box. Remember to eat it! Don't miss me too much! I'll be back soon! Saranghae!

Mong ji~

He sighed as he read the note and send Jihyo a message.

To Jihyo

Call me after filming ends.

Throughout the entire filming, Jihyo was not really focusing on the missions. "Kang Gary and Song Jihyo are dating?" The headline of the news repeated in her head along with the image of Gary kissing her on the forehead.

The members could see that Jihyo was not her usual self and they knew the problem to that. They were unsure of how to comfort her since it was an issue regarding Gary's and Jihyo's personal lives.

Jong kook gave Kwangsoo a slight nudge on his arm and told him to check on Jihyo. Kwangsoo walked towards Jihyo with a bottle of water in his hand and passed it to her. "Noona, gwaenchanha? You don't look good today."

"I'm fine. Kwangsoo-yah, can you just leave me alone for now?" she rejected the water and told him softly. Kwangsoo nodded and slowly stepped backwards.

"Hyung, she just wants to be alone." Kwangsoo passed on the message to Jong kook. Both of them observed her for a few minutes before Taek pd called them back to resume filming.

Filming ended at around 8pm. Jihyo quickly contact her manager to inform her that she's ready to go. She open the message that Gary sent and called him.

"Jihyo-yah, I saw the news. Where are you right now?" Gary asked.

"Filming just ended and I'm going to Cjes Entertainment building. Oppa, let's discuss it when I reach your place." she ended the call even before Gary could reply her.

"Is she meeting him?" Gary recalled that Jihyo mentioned something about 'Cjes.' He called Kwon rae to pick him up from his house and send him to Jihyo's company building.

Throughout the journey to Cjes, Jihyo's hands were clasped tightly together. She knew that this day would come and no matter how mentally prepared she was to face the consequences, she was still afraid.

"Jihyo ssi, you may enter the office." The secretary notified her after informing Chang Joo on Jihyo's arrival.

They entered the office and his secretary close the door behind them. "Song Ji hyo ssi, I demand an explanation!" He threw the newspaper on the table and shouted.

Jihyo glanced at the picture that was printed on the front page. "It's true that Gary oppa and I are dating." she confessed while trying not to appear frightened and nervous.

Chang Joo got up from his seat and stood in front of Jihyo, looming over her. Jihyo lifted her head to face him with fear in her eyes. "Dating behind my back? he sarcastically said and threw a glare at Jihyo's manager. "I suppose you knew about it all along." he continued. Eun wol timidly nodded her head.

"I want you to break up with Kang Gary ssi immediately." he stepped back and stared at Jihyo. She was dumbfounded at his request. Eun wol wanted to intervene but she held her back. "I can't do that. You can't force me to break up with him." Jihyo retorted.

"What did you say?" He walked up to her and rhetorically asked. "You, as my employee, have no rights to argue with me over this matter." he snarled and yanked her by the collar of her long coat.

"No, you can't enter!" Chang joo's secretary shouted from outside. The door swung open as Gary barged into the office .

"Boss, I tried to stop him but he wouldn't listen." the secretary apologised profusely. Chang Joo signalled her to get out of his office as Gary stood at the door.
