"But Why?"

It's January 21,2015
Life is getting better for my dad, and he's getting less...abusive. But mom is still in critical condition, she was slowly dying, and we all knew she didn't have much time. Today we have school delays, and I won't be having to go to school today or tomorrow because of the snow. My dad was at work till 10:00p.m. And Dawn and I just hung out with mom on the couch and we taught her how to draw again. It took some time, be we managed it. I didn't feel like crying anymore, it was like all the tears left me. And now, I have faded smiles on the good or bad days. But anyways, the feedback was four months for my mom to live, and it looked like it was already four months. Her skin kept getting paler every day, her hands looked too weak, and her hair was half way gone, but even though she was going through so much pain, she still kept a smile on her face. For Dawn, and I'm happy she does, cause Dawn doesn't know what "dead" mean yet. I'll have to tell her soon.

2 hours laterr... (SpongeBob Voice)

I turned on the stove and out some hot water in it. I was trying to make mac&cheese for Dawn cause she hated everything in this house, just because she's a picky eater. Daniel texted me and asked if we wanted to get together and I agreed. We then agreed that Daniel would come here, so I cleaned the house and my room, then got ready as Dawn watched Disney tv. I heard a doorbell and opened the door seeing Daniel with cookies. I told him to get out of the cold as a joke and we laughed, and then kissed smiling. He made my day with his smiles, and I was so glad to see him. But I needed to talk to Christopher soon, we haven't talking in 2 days. Daniel set the cookies on the counter and I finished making the mac&cheese asking if she wanted any. He nodded and Dawn came running up to me holding my waist saying

Dawn- "if he's your bf, is he mine too?"
(I looked at Daniel laughing a little bit)
Me- "Um, mayb-"
Daniel- "Yes, you can be my gf too."
Me- I smiled at Daniel and whispered "Thank You"
(Daniel then winked at me)
Dawn- "So what are you going to get me for Valentine's Day?"
Me- "Dawn, we don't need to worry about that right now."
Daniel- "a big pink rose, and your favorite princess crown"

I smiled at Daniel and started putting the hot mac&cheese in little bowls for Daniel and Dawn. And after, I put the mac&cheese pan into the sink and we all stood in the kitchen, I watched Daniel and Dawn eat their mac&cheese. Dawn then asked me for salt and it was right behind me in the cabinet, so I put my hand on the stove and opened the pantry, grabbing the salt, but I felt a huge burning pain on the finger. I screamed "OW!" I then remembered at I didn't turn the heat off. Dawn started crying, cause when people get hurt, she acts like she's hurt. So she cuddled up with mom, while I was in so much pain. It was like my finger had a fireball on it. Daniel grabbed a towel and ice from my fridge and put it on my finger, it was like he was a doctor. He asked if it was ok, and I nodded, feeling the pain on my finger going away slowly. When it was gone, Daniel took the towel off and kissed my finger. I smiled and laughed, I got a band-aid and then he wrapped it onto my finger, and I kissed his cheek saying "my hero."

20 minutes laterr.. (SpongeBob Voice)

Dawn fell asleep in my moms arms, and I left a note saying that me and Daniel are going for a walk. We then quietly went out the door trying not to wake up my mom and Dawn. After a few seconds we were walking down the street holding hands. As we got to the park I saw some of the football players on Daniels team looking at me. I just assumed something was wrong with my hair, so I told Daniel about how they were over there, and said that I was going to go to the restroom. So Daniel nodded, and when I was going, I looked at the guys and two of them winked at me and another one said "come here" but I just gave them a confused stare, and walked into the ladies room. I kept thinking "did they want to have sex with me?! EWWW!" I looked in the mirror and my hair was perfectly fine. God...all of those boys were creepy. I then took a deep breath and opened the door...the boys were right outside across from me at the men's restroom. They looked at me and I said "look, can I help you?" Then one of the guys came up to me saying "look. Ur hot and the most popular girl in school." I raised an eyebrow and gave a confused look saying "so what." The other guys then came up to me and I started stepping backwards. I then bumped my back and head on a wall, and all three guys smiled getting closer. I screamed "don't touch me" And I tried running away, but one of the guys grabbed my wrist pulling me to him. I then screamed "Daniel!" Dang he was strong. I heard Daniel run up and he said "let her go Michel!" He then looked at me and let me go. I held my wrist feeling the pain while looking at Daniel and he told me "start going home and I'll see you their." I started walking off and heard Daniel fighting and cussing at the kids. I started crying and started running home, as I got halfway I stopped running and took deep breaths. That's one the scariest things that have happened here. Could anything get any worse😒? I then heard someone running come up to me. I then turned around and saw that it was Daniel, he had a bloody nose. He said "are you ok Audrey" I nodded and said "the question is if your ok. Are you ok?!" He smiled, I'm ok, let's just go to my place. I agreed, and we started walking to his place.

5 minutes laterr.. (SpongeBob Voice)

I was sitting on Daniel couch laying on Daniels shoulder trying not to cry. "What happened is just between us" Daniel then said "Always" and I thanked him for everything and kissed his cheek. I felt so bad because he was beat up. Daniel then got up and said he was going to the bathroom. I just sat their and when Daniel was out of the room I heard his iPhone6 wring. So I picked it up from the table and read it. It was Christopher. His text said "so the plan worked?" I wrote back as Daniel saying

On text:

Me- "What do you mean"
Daniel- "the football players..."

I then got so mad. I wanted to smash his phone.

Me- "This is Audrey. Wow, can't believe you guys did this to me."

Christopher just read the text and didn't reply. I started crying. Then I put Daniels phone back and got up grabbing my jacket. I heard a door open and Daniel was walking back to his room while I went down the stairs. Daniel then said "Audrey" I looked back at him opening the door. "How could you" I then walked out and shut the door running back to my house. When I got home I sat on the porch and sobbed. He did it on purpose, but why?
