Little Brown Haired Boy . . .
"No, no, no, little brown haired boy," I said, stopping once again.
"Chloe, why do you keep calling me that," he asked turning to face me. "I don't even have brown hair."
I stared at the top of his head for a few moments. ". . . Yeah, you do," I said slowly.
"Yep, you're coming to my house," he said and started to walk again, gently tugging me with him. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of keys.
"Are you drunk," I asked as we continued to walk. I started to swing our locked hands between us.
"I didn't drink tonight," he said quietly.
"Well, why not," I asked confused. "It's a party, duh!"
"I was too busy watching you," he said as he stopped beside a black mustang.
"This car is so sexy," I squealed. "I got here in one and now I get to leave in one!"
"Chloe . . . never mind," he said opening the door for me.
I flopped down in the seat and he closed the door. I watched him walk around the front of the car then open the drivers' door and get in. I giggled.
"What's so funny," he asked as he started the car, it roaring to life.
"You're kinda cute," I said and giggled again.
"Thanks," he said and chuckled. "And you're not too bad yourself," he said and pulled away from the curb.
I rested my head on the window, looking out at the streetlights as they zoomed by overhead. Suddenly my eyes were drooping closed.
"Chloe, wake up," little brown haired boy said and shook me.
"I wasn't asleep," I mumbled and snuggled down further into the seat.
He sighed and got out of the car. Silence engulfed around me and I decided to try my luck at getting some sleep.
Seconds later, the passenger door opened and I felt myself falling, only to land in someone's arms. I was being lifted out of the car; bridal style.
"You're strong, little brown haired boy," I mumbled, my eyes still closed. It felt like I was floating.
"I'm gonna put you down so I can unlock the door," he said. "Can you stand for a couple of seconds?"
I nodded and he set me down. My knees gave way once my feet touched the ground and his arm was instantly around my waist. A moment later the door was opened and he bent down to pick me up again.
I wrapped one of my arms around his neck as he walked into a pitch black house. "I can't see anything," I mumbled.
"I got you, Chloe," he said kicking the door shut behind him.
"Okay, little brown haired boy," I said getting a chuckle in response.
I was being taken up some stairs now. "Don't drop me," I said and wrapped both my arms around his neck.
"I won't."
I buried my head in his shoulder and inhaled. This guy smelled great, too. "Mmmm, you smell so good," I said against his shoulder.
"Thanks, I guess," he said and chuckled, sending vibrations through his chest. It felt like they went through me, leaving tingles.
He reached flat ground again. He walked some more and then he stopped. He opened a door and walked inside. He put me down on a bed and I practically melted at its softness. I heard a door being closed and a second later he was next to me.
"This bed is so comfortable," I moaned and stretched my arms out.
"I know, right," he asked moving to sit by my feet. He grabbed my ankles, placing them in his lap, and started undoing the straps to my heels. He placed my shoes on the floor and got up. He walked over to a dresser, pulling it open and rummaging around.
He tossed something over to me and it landed on my stomach. I picked it up and realized it was a shirt for me to wear.
"That's all I have for you to sleep in," he said sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck.
I nodded lazily and tried to sit up. "I feel like Jell-O," I said after my second attempt at sitting up. After much needed effort I was finally able to sit up. I moved to the edge of the bed and wiggled the bottom of my dress from under my butt. I squirmed out of the dress, glad that it was a strapless, and threw it next to my shoes, leaving me with only my half bra and underwear on.
I crawled back into the bed, the shirt now forgotten. I pulled back the covers and snuggled beneath them, the warmth comforting. I closed my eyes and yawned.
" . . . Uh, Chloe," little brown haired boy asked.
"Hmmm?"
" . . . What about the shirt . . . ?"
"You can wear it," I mumbled and rolled onto my stomach.
He sighed and I heard him shuffling around the room. Seconds later I felt the bed sink as he took the spot next to me.
"Can I ask you something," I asked and opened my eyes. I turned my head to face him.
He was on his back, not under the covers, and staring at the ceiling. "Yeah, go ahead."
"Did you see what I looked like when I first got to the party?
"I couldn't take my eyes off of you," he whispered.
"Well, did you think I looked okay? I'm asking because this guy said I looked hideous and I kinda believed him," I said and sighed.
He looked over at me. "He was lying."
