A young girl with purple hair and purple eyes paced in her room. It seemed oddly quiet to her around the house. Her two brothers Sean and Sam were out as far as she knew and her so was her father. Her mother Arianna was a bit busy with other things, going to visit a man, her best friend Shane in just a minute.
Her mother called for her, "Alexandria, I'm leaving! There's food in the kitchen if you get hungry."
She sighed and called back, "Alright, bye mom."
She heard the front door click shut and grew bored quickly. She wanted her brothers to be home already so she could have them to play with but they were taking so long. She went into the kitchen, grabbing a bite to eat while she waited. Another hour had passed before she caught sight of her siblings out the window, their father trailing close behind.
Alexandria got up from the couch, a bright smile forming on her face as she appeared by the door, opening it to greet them. "Sean, Sam, dad, did it go well?"
Her father brushed passed her, ignoring her. Again. He had been this way for the passed two weeks and she tried not to let it bother her. She shook her head and looked at her brothers instead. Sean, the taller of the two, smiled and picked her up, "Yes it went well." Alexandria squeaked when her brother picked her up and giggled, "Sean, put me down!"
"Little damsel in distress, what ever shall we do?" Sam exaggerated his words with a teasing smirk. Alexandria stuck her tongue out at him as Sean put her down. Sam chuckled and ruffled her ponytail, "When did your hair get so long? It feels like it grew two inches while we were away."
Alexandria shrugged, "I don't know, maybe you need your eyes checked."
Sam rolled his eyes, "Haha very funny."
Sean smiled, "Come on you two, I'm hungry." He went to the kitchen to get some dinner and Sam trailed after him. Alexandria went to her father in the living room, "Dad...?"
"Where's your mother, is she around?" he asked blatantly.
She frowned, not expecting him to say anything let alone ask her that sort of question, "She went to go see Shane-"
She watched in fearful silence as her father threw a glass at the wall and he stalked off to his room, slamming the door behind him. Sean came up behind her, resting a gentle hand on her shoulder, "Don't mind him Alexandria, he's just upset over something. He'll cool off eventually."
Alexandria looked unsure, "If you say so..."
Arianna came home that night after dark. Alexandria was in her room, her brothers' in theirs. Alexandria heard her come in and go to her father in their room. She sat on her bed in silence, allowing her senses to overtake her and let her see and hear things that were going on in the house. Sean was sleeping, Sam was writing something and her parents, to her dismay, were fighting.
She winced as her father hit Arianna causing her to fall into the dresser and she could hear without her fancy senses, the dresser shifting and hitting the wall. Alexandria grew angry but kept herself sitting there knowing that if she went in there it would just make matters worse. She blocked out her senses just hoping that her mother would be ok and that her father would just leave her alone. She forced herself to lay down and fall asleep.
The next morning when she woke up, she went into the kitchen smelling bacon. She looked around until she saw Arianna, her hair covering the bruise she had on her cheek. She tilted her head, "Mom? Are you ok?" Her mother looked at her and smiled faintly, "Oh hey Alexandria. I'm fine. Are your brothers awake?"
Alexandria shrugged though her concerns grew. "Where's dad?" She noticed the flicker of emotions that reflected from her mother's eyes as she replied, "He... Left. He wont be around for a while..."
